Good morning...and thanks for your diligence posting these threads for another year.

Plugs Biden appearing on a Sunday morning talk show. Will wonders never cease?

What are the Vegas odds for Biden appearing Christmas Day on one or more of the shows?

Thank you for this thread every Sunday.

The Vice President is making a surprise visit to Iraq and James Rosen of FNC is reporting now.

I'm virtually certain that Hillary will take credit; in her meeting with the VP last week she suggested he go to Iraq and her suggestion was met with a stare.

Russert, Steffy, Shiefer, Blitzer are all used to pull up Time or Newsweek and demand answers from guests. Would ANY of them dare to pull this current National Review (intelligent, truthfull, topical) at ANY of the democrats and ask for their reaction when the dems are looking for a face transplant for Dean and/or themselves?

I do hope posters will post information on Tammy Duckworth. She's a Democrat running for Henry Hydes IL seat, and a current darling of the left. Without question, her Iraqi war credentials are going to be used by Democrats to claim they support the troops.

Ryan McGlothlin's parents let the president tell their late son's story despite differing politics - LATimes(!) talks to parents of a fallen Marine quoted by Bush. Wouldn't it be nice if ANY of the shows give the parents their day?

"My son told us, to our faces, 'I won't vote for Mr. Bush, but I'll take a bullet for him,' " Donald McGlothlin said in an interview Wednesday.

He won an Army ROTC scholarship for his last three years of college, but it was withdrawn after recruiters learned he had had a respiratory illness as a child. His mother said McGlothlin then worked even harder, training his muscles and his mind, to convince the military that he was healthy.

.......... after arriving in Iraq, Ryan McGlothlin became convinced that the fight had to be won there. In a letter he wrote five days before his death — and received by his family after his funeral — he outlined his views.

"I know this war is not the most popular one back home, but people must understand that to pull out before the Iraqi army is fully ready to assume responsibility for the security of their own country is not only irresponsible of us but would ensure the persistence of terrorism," Ryan wrote. "If you walk through these cities and see how terrified the Iraqi citizens are of the terrorists and how thankful they are that we finally came to their cities, you could not possibly consider doing this job incompletely."

Like his own father, a legislator in Virginia for 22 years, Donald McGlothlin is a Democrat. But he believes that what Bush says about staying the course in Iraq "is what we need to do."

"Nobody knows the pain a family has to go through to lose a child to this war," Donald McGlothlin said. "I would do anything to have been spared this. But I don't want the gifts that these men and women are making to the Iraqi people to go for naught."

Ryan McGlothlin was buried in Lebanon, posthumously promoted to first lieutenant and awarded the Purple Heart. At the time of his death, Bush said Wednesday, "in his pocket was a poem that Ryan had read at his high school graduation, and it represented the spirit of this fine Marine. The poem was called 'Don't Quit.

GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS

Duckworth has stated she is AGAINST the war. Would not vote to give the President authorization to go to war.

She's been recruited by Rahm Emmanuel to run for Henry Hyde's seat.

She wants universal heath care, better education and better jobs.

Sounds like the typical DEM agenda.

I'm surprised no Hagel today to talk about Patriot renewal but they got Feingold instead, arguably the prime mover against Patriot police-state provisions.

Hairplug Joe makes an inevitable appearance, raising the question of who the hell in this country wants to hear from that vacuous windbag every Sunday and 3-4 appearances on MSNBC during the week.

McCain Is Now Officially a Liberal Democrat - The Post Chronicle™ mirrors conservatives

McCain apparently "feels" (one of those liberal things) that torture is 'anything that makes terrorists uncomfortable'.  Holy Smokes, Senator!  Terrorists are supposed to be uncomfortable.

Not only does McCain not want those who blow up people, buildings and behead those they haven't already killed to be treated with a gentler and more soothing attitude, he has also managed to push this anti-American enemy bill through--with terrorists now being extended rights under the US Constitution!

It really is time, Sir, for you to run under the flag of your true belief system--the Democrat Party.  Senator, we already know you that don't like conservatives and will attempt to run for President under some liberal platform. Certainly, you say you support the troops.  But, your new "Al-Qaeda Rights Package" contradicts your words.  I guess Hillary already has the Dem nomination pretty well sewn up--despite the insincere protestations from the Left.  So, you won't be able to run as Prez for the Dems.

I'm also guessing that joining Hillary as her running mate--for VP--is completely out of the question.  But, with your ongoing liberal antics, do you really believe you'll win the Republican nomination? To the mainstream liberal press, you're the Republican darling.  But, it's the majority of Republicans--not Democrats--who will nominate a Republican presidential candidate.  And like it or not, Senator, a great many Republicans still support a conservative ideology.  Do you still remember what that entails?

------- Worth reading in full.

Steve Case, co-founder of America Online.

Morning all, AB.

Little reminisce here. Please forgive.

Almost twenty years ago, hand to God, there was a little computer network, NOT the Internet, called Qlink. It was for users of Commodore 64 computers.

I met my husband on that network and going on 16 years now we've been happily married.

Anyway, one time the Trivia club of Qlink had a party in Pennsylvania. At the time my future husband lived in Massachusetts and I lived in Merryland. We both met up at the Qlink party.

Guess who we both had dinner with?

Tada....Steve Case!

Indeed we sat with him and chatted about this and that, just a friendly time. Steve Case was President of Qlink. Husband and I thought it was a big deal at the time but go on, Qlink morphed into something called America Online and the rest, they say, is history.

Steve Case was a nice guy but he definitely had grander visions.

Through all those years I've been able to keep my Qlink name as they allowed us for the transition to AOL.

Sixteen years we've been married...I'd argue longest married couple what met on the Internet.

See how NYTimes trapped dems during Homeland security resolution & they filibustered? After suffering the consequences, the same senate voted for it. Now they are doing it again. Good set up, as if Rove planned it.

Will the Gray Lady Leakers Get Frog Marched to the Hoosegow?

George Bush is not one to speak in symbols or mince words. His message today leaves you with the impression that "W" is more than miffed. He has lately not ignored the vicious political attacks from the Left. In November, he pointed out the dishonest reporting from the New York Times. Bush won't let this national security leak go that easy. He stated today the information was "improperly reported". Look for an investigation into this leak. "W" isn't letting this one go! And, this of course, is very bad news for the New York Times.

Connecting the dots.

I initially bought into the NY Times story of Bush approving wiretapping, or eavesdropping, being tied into the release of an upcoming book by the same company. Then the story being linked to the Iraqi election made some sense, as that election was overshadowed by the leaked story. Releasing the story the day the Patriot Act was being voted on in congress seemed to be another good reason for the timing.

Two more aspects are Follow The Money and Politics Is About Power

Low Bush poll numbers were helping Democrats increase popularity, rising numbers are hurting them
Low Bush ratings helped the NY Times regain some lost credibility and sell papers with anti-Bush vindication
Release now gives Democrats something to use for fundraising during the Christmas recess
Release now helps Democrats appease their unhappy base
Release now can help increase their base with the opportunity to attack Bush back home
Release now gives Democrats a topic for discussion, deflecting their lack of support for the Iraq war
Release now preemptively helps them justify future anti-Bush voting, such as a filibuster against Judge Alito
Release now defines the current discussion over the holiday, away from important issues

Since liberals don't like Christmas, it was a Happy Holiday present.

FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sens. Joseph Biden, D-Del., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.; Army Maj. Tammy Duckworth, an Iraq war veteran.

Isn't CBS guest just a rerun of either MTP or This Weak from last week? Same guests just a different network?

Gee nothing like "the objective News Media" in action. Could they POSSIBLE be more unbalanced? Gee wonder if ABC will take to task Maj Duckworth position of being both for and against the Iraq Liberation at the same time? She "would not "have voted for the Use of Force" but "does not regret the her service in Iraq" all at the same time!!! Amazing how morally flexible Democrats are!!!!

Gee wonder if any Republican Congressional Candidates will be invited on ABC? Wonder if the Major will wear her prosthetics or appear in a wheel chair? Sorry Major, we honor your sacrifice however that does NOT allow you to use your wounds as a political PR prop.

Well I have better thinks to do. Think I will scrub the baseboards of all the cubicles in my office building with my least favorite co-worker's a emergency reserve toothbrush.

Since this is our last gathering for the year, Let me wish you all Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kawannza, Blessed Winter Solstices, Happy New Year or, to any rabid Secularist,....Productive Dec Federal Holiday break!!!

If directly asked if he went because she forced him to, he'll probably reply coldly but politely that the trip was planned since xx/xx/xx. He probably won't even add that Hillary knew that.

I'm hoping somebody will make the point that Hillary has those fence post legs pumping as hard as she can to try to get in front of this parade--or make it look like she is.
