Tony Snow is back and better than ever! Tony's guests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:

Homeland Insecurity
Provisions of the PATRIOT Act are set to expire because the Senate did not end debate on the law today. Is this a blow to national security or much ado about nothing? Tony has analysis.

We Love Luci
Tony and internet news guru Lucianne Goldberg will preview the week's top stories.

Name That Building
A crucial bill in Congress is stalled because the House would like to name two buildings after Rosa Parks and Mother Teresa, but Senators Arlen Specter (R-PA) and Tom Harkin (D-IA) want the buildings named after them. Now we know who has the biggest egos in Congress.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time
-- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
Good morning, everyone! Heres your Tony Snow Show ping this Monday, and not a moment too soon! Theres been dirty work afoot in the Senate and with the New York Times. It will be a great show today.
I will unfortunately not be able to participate as I am in a mad dash to finish baking cookies today and to call my (brainless) Senators offices to complain about the filibuster of the Patriot Act.
I will try to check in later, but I need to finish baking today (18 dozen).
Cheers,
Win

Good luck...give 'em 'ell!!!!
I'm out too...gotta leave the house right now!
Tony....go get 'em!!!! You're the best!
This should be a great show, glad I get to listen for a while today.
These people have no business in the senate. They are not grownup enough.
Tony...hold their feet to the fire and let 'em have it with both barrels. Wish I could be here to listen and talk. Christmas happens in retail, though! :o)
Looking forward to this one!
Let 'er rip, Tony!!!
The President is having a press conference in 90 minutes.

Respect
Read:
|
As a schoolteacher, my wife has noticed that behavior seems to be deteriorating with each successive class of students. Many children show little respect for older people.
First Timothy 6 reveals that disrespect is not unique to our generation. Paul, who ministered to a culture built on slavery, highlighted this concern. He wrote, "Those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brethren" (v.2). Paul knew that slaves, whose welfare depended on their master's goodwill, were capable of being disrespectful.
We may say that people need to show themselves worthy of respect before we can respect them. But respecting another person is much more about who we are than about who the other person is.
Paul gave the main reason believers should excel in respect: "So that the name of God and His doctrine may not be blasphemed" (v.1).
Sadly, the worst cases of disrespect are sometimes found among those who claim to follow Jesus. But when believers excel in all they do, God's name is lifted up. All of us are to bring honor and glory to the Lord's name.
Excelling in respect for others honors God. Albert Lee
One who would be truly respected must first respect others.
Speaking of bad behavior, who was that brainless twit you had on Saturday's Weekend Live who could not form an opinion apart from a poll?!
Good morning, everyone! Merry CHRISTMAS.
Okay, putting off the errands until later. Anyway, it's only 14 degrees here right now.
Great to have you with us. You certainly can use the break :)
"I am ready for some adult listening/conversation."
So I am guessing you are requesting that no clips from Congress be played today? ;)
Woof!
Good morning, Mayor. This statement is so true.
That twit (properly identified) was Mary Anne Marsh.....what an idiot she is...
LOL. That was very clever.
Thank You, Don't just wish you could stick them all in a corner for a while?
Good morning!
No more Mr. Nice Guy. LOL. Oh, I didn't realize that Mrs. Cheney is with the VP in Afganistan.
the dems just never learn not to base things on those phony polls!
The Dems are just realizing W has "Doubled Down."
LOL!!! You do have a point! Congress is worse than the 4th graders right now.
Hey sl, all. I hope you all had a great weekend. I fell asleep around 2 a.m or so... the house was still arguing over the Defense Appropriations Bill, ANWR and Avian Flu Package/lack of liability to manufacturers and those who give it.
Well it seems with Echelon out, we all dug a hole to China (or Wen Ho Lee/Chinagate, sorry Sandy... some things just can't find in your pants), the Clipper Chip, Reno gone wild (as far as civil liberties... don't worry, she can testify... even though she left nine years ago because of Parkinson's supposedly... she looks good), lots of wiretaps (yes, illegal), back to the Arkansas Airport cocaine delivery days (then BJ wanted to cut back on monitoring on drugs... hmmm), the dragging in of the reporter by FBI who had been wiretapped (without his knowledge), re: China... hmmm, haven't heard from him in years... I wonder?, and more developing...
Posted some links already on the Echelon Levin Thread.
I have to take my lovely child to yet another appointment in case NYC transit goes on strike. Keep great notes and Ciao All!
It's interesting, isn't it. They have to know, as we do, that the polls are intentionally skewed, yet they then go out and behave as if they are real. Perhaps it is a mental disease.
Good morning!
The DUmmies are having a fit!
You do have a way w/words for these malcontents. "No More Mr. Nice Guy" was a perfect musical choice for what is happening 'rite now'!!!!
This one is going to cost me big time with my priest this week.
Perhaps???? You are being too polite this morning. LOL
Oh, and Bill Richardson, Richard Clarke and Louis Freeh knows a whole lot about the wiretaps.
What would we think about the President if he was not using every tool possible to thwart the enemy in this war we are fighting?
Should we email this to Harry Searchlite Reid??
Main Entry: vic·to·ry
Pronunciation: 'vik-t(&-)rE
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural -ries
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French victorie, from Latin victoria, from victor
1 : the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist
2 : achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against odds or difficulties
The funny thing is this, in the 90's the rats was advocating the same thing.
Somebody buy Reid a dictionary!
House, Senate agree on budget cuts (Reid shuts down senate... again)

Support our troops - Send the Congressmen Home NOW!!!
Jack Murtha always sounds so angry and overwrought.
Morning. It is a baking kind of day. Glad to be able to join you all today. School is out and the house is clean (relatively-as clean as it is going to get). I have been lurking now and then and have missed you all.
I want to share with you all a Christmas card we received this weekend:
The card was presorted addressed to my husband.
The cover had our state capital building.
Upon opening the card one side Referenced
Matthew 2:1,9-11.
The other side said:
During this Christmas season may you be surrounded by the love of family and friends and filled with the spirit of the Risen Christ.
Hand signed (computer generated)by Governor Bob Riley and First Lady Patsy Riley.
It is an election year and the card means more than a political ad. I have known the Rileys are Christians, and I have heard Patsy Riley speak on having courage in our faith.
Just wanted to share this with all of you. It was a pleasant surprise. Ssshhh...Please don't tell the ACLU (lol).
Good morning all.
I actually get to listen this morning. Looking forward to a great show today!
