Tancredo to Pres. Fox: Mind Your Own Business Congressional Desk

By Congressional Desk December 21, 2005 Congressman Ridicules Mexico’s President for Leveling Threats against U.S. for Immigration Policy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) condemned Mexico’s President Vicente Fox for his threats against the United States over Congress’ recent actions to secure the border. Tancredo led a coalition of reform advocates in the House of Representatives to pass a bill last week that would, among other things, build a security fence along portions of the U.S.’s southern border, mandate that employers verify the legal status of employees and prevent local governments from harboring illegal aliens. President Fox called the bill “shameful” and his foreign secretary told the Associated Press, “Mexico is not going to bear, it is not going to permit, and it will not allow a stupid thing like this wall.”

“Which United States citizens voted Vicente Fox into office? Vicente Fox was not elected by the American people—how dare he butt into our domestic policies,” said Tancredo. “I, myself, have a bit of advice for Fox: it’s not becoming of a member of the ‘international community’ to lob vague threats at one’s neighbor. No ‘amigo’ of the U.S. threatens our sovereignty, and no good neighbor would entangle itself in our domestic politics.”

Tancredo continued, “Fox’s comments are symptomatic of the disordered relationship between our two countries. Mexico has become addicted to the remittances that Mexicans—both legal and illegal—send back from the United States. Those remittances represent nearly the greatest source of foreign direct investment into the country. Just like any addict, Mexico will do almost anything to get its next fix.”

“Although I continue to be disturbed by Mexico’s intentional, premeditated circumvention of U.S. immigration laws, I am no longer surprised,” concluded Tancredo. “Fox is a known quantity. His former foreign secretary told a Senate committee that Mexico wouldn’t cooperate with the U.S. unless we allowed an ever-increasing flow of laborers into our country. He established a ministry for Mexicans living in the U.S. His government has produced step-by-step guides for entering the U.S. illegally. And, his military routinely crosses onto U.S. soil, which violates every domestic and international law on the books. I’m disturbed but not surprised.”

Ouch, nice rib shot Tom. Keep it up and you will have my vote should you decide to run something bigger than Colorado.

Why bother debating the Quislings? Every word they type is a lie. Their goal is the destruction of American national sovereignty, they just can't be honest and admit it.

Quisling: a synonym for traitor, someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country.

I'm sure that if the internet had been around in 1940, *Norwegians* would have been encouraging Norway to welcome their *German brothers* as liberators.

Same Quislings, different era.

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

The Republican State Senator in South Carolina (passing a bill to put illegals in jail for 5 years in S.C if they enter the state as illegal citizens) is pretty cool, too. He was on H&C tonight and did a great job of slapping down Alan Colmes; I almost choked on my dinner he had me laughing so hard calling Alan a wimp among other things.

Yes, I know. COEX continuously attacks Tancredo yet has absolutely nothing constructive to say about what he (Tancredo)says.
Does he agree or disagree with Tancredo? If he disagrees, why?
I'm sure he won't say since it would solidify his obvious hate for America and it's citizens.

I want Fox to keep throwing his temper tantrums, every time he throws one a few more people get mad.

Mexico has become addicted to the remittances that Mexicans—both legal and illegal—send back from the United States.

The Congressman needs to call the "free traders" out next. They are the ones who set up the system that addicted Mexico to remittances and is destroying our economic sovereignty as well.

I can kind of understand having a soft spot for people sneaking into the country to get out of a hellpit like Mexico. However, I cannot fathom how anyone who cares one iota for his country can disagree with Tancredo's statement and back that tinpot dictator Fox. Just confirms that the open borders lobby is not just the "loyal opposition". The traitors would sell out the US in a moment. And for what? Cheap slave labor...or do they want to destroy the country?

I like him just fine the way he is!

He has risen on his own merits. As you say, he is very effective.

I have the utmost respect for Congressman Tancredo. I also love it that he won't mince words and says it like it is

I'm a big Tancredo fan and will be supporting him in 2008 (and then probably voting 3rd party conservative).

But I believe in giving credit where credit is due and I believe it was J.D Hayworth who addressed this issue with Mexico first and I also believe his words were the more eloquent. He said, "President Fox should just shut-up!"

Well, it sure took a long time for any American politician (or even an unelected bureaucrat) to reply to the outrageous comments of Fox,... and when it happened, it was a lowly, outcast, Congressman from Colorado? Is there nobody around with enough spine to call a spade a spade?

Political Correctness is going to be the death of this country...

Right you are.

GOP Congressman to Fox: 'Shut Up'
Dec 15, 2005

Fox on Wednesday called the idea of a fence "disgraceful and shameful."

U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R.-Ariz.) said Thursday that Mexican President Vicente Fox should "shut up" about his opposition to a proposed U.S.-Mexico border fence.

J.D. Hayworth:

"I'm going to step away from diplomatic rules and offer President Fox some straight talk: President Fox should shut up. He should shut up about all of this because he is only fanning the flames of poor relations between our two nations. He needs to cease and desist."

"What's disgraceful is President Fox presuming to lecture the United States on how best to protect itself against an invasion -- an invasion that has his wholehearted advocacy. . . . He needs to stop his advocacy of an invasion of his countrymen into our nation. What's shameful is that, as the president of the Republic of Mexico, he does nothing to stem this invasion. He actively endorses it."

The big question.

Why does First Lady Laura Bush not like Tom Tancredo?

Did ya hear that Mister President?

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

He heard nothing. It compromises his legacy of a "new America".
