I looked up that house. It's a downtown location considered to be prime real estate. That's why the asking price is what it is.

So you never answered the question, do you require acres of land to be happy? Is that what you need for your "privacy"?

I'll be as honest as I can.

Our first home, (years ago) was on a postage stamp lot, no privacy, the windows on our neighbors home looked right into ours, and we were on a .14 lot. I hated it. You could hear the neighbors yelling at each other. LOL. As I said, that is first time buyer action.

Yes, in my mind paying 290k for one of those in Boise would be for a first time buyer. I would never ever consider that. My idea of a home, (which would be our 3rd home) in an area like Boise would be one that was 5 years old or newer, and on at least 1/2 or more acres. We spent 5 days looking. And all we saw, that we would even consider all ran well over 450k plus!

The fact is, we have been all over the west, and the era of reasonably priced homes is over, (unless one wants to live in Michigan or Tennessee etc). We prefer the west, and for the most part, everywhere in the west, without question, is very high priced.

We've decided just to stay where we are. LOL!

Yeah, we saw lots

of them just like that. Postage stamp lots, typical track home, zero privacy, neighbors right on top of you. You'll note in your photo the neighbors home is almost touching this home on the right side.

I can't deal with that.

Again, we are not first time buyers. We've lived in track homes, on lots that are .3 and have listened to my neighbors conversations and kids screaming.

No thanks, we'll never do that again. That is why we never relocated to Boise and have just decided to stay put.

I guess I'm just a low-life since I live on .2 acres. I've never heard my neighbors screaming or even talking. I think I'm more realistic.

No, I never said you were or anyone else is low life, because they live on a small lot, in a track home. As I said, our next home will be our third if we ever move. So yes, we are picky.

We live in Orange County CA and have a half acre and is a very private property, and with a nice views! And on top of that, places like Plus Boise ID could never pay what we are making here.

So long story short, we have traveled all over the west in the past few years, and after seeing what 375k buys, we've just decided to just stay put.

One other thing. We also found out what you see on a computer, and what it looks like in person, are two completely different things. That is why realtor's "frame" the photos of the homes. They don't want you to see that the neighbors are right on top of the home in the picture.

We have come to the conclusion that developers are probably the greediest people on the planet, as they build homes that literally cast shadows the neighbors homes.

By the way, Merry Christmas!

That is really disgusting, the disrespect by the tribal members towards the local law enforcement. I have seen some of that "gang related" attitude coming from the reservation and I would be a little worried if I lived there. Sometimes I wonder too, if the reservation allowed alchohol there, that there would be way fewer DUI's handed out by the local police. I do have my personal opinion on this subject but I'll shut up now.

When I referred to IF, I should have clarified between the two, IF and Ammon. Kind of like distinguishing Chubbuck from Pocatello. It appears though that up north they are growing much faster than down here in Poky.

I suspect the state is not growing at all, only it's population.

Damn dummies.

Sorry for the misread... many times I wonder how people I know can afford their $200k home, the Suburban and the nice car and the wife does not work, but stays at home taking care of the 5 kids!? And those are not the "transplants"... they are the locals.
