I've been called to jury duty twice now. Both times, every person in the pool who showed the slightest intelligence or critical thinking skills were removed.
Given the troglodytes serving on most juries, I expect a financial windfall in the future for this idiotic woman's family.

I'm not understanding if she intentionally put a hole in the bottom of the can, or it happened accidentally while she was trying to unclog the nozzle part.It is probably hard to say since the death happened two years ago and only now do the woman's daughters feel the need to be financially compensated for their mother's actions. I imagine this suit won't go far.

...base their suit on alleged manufacturing and design defects and inadequate warning and instruction labeling... A sad incident for sure, but more a case of Darwinism.
Rather, this again points out the real problem of America.

I horrible way to die, and traumatic for all involved.
he will seek $10 million in compensatory damages and $100 million in punitive damages
It shouldn't have a place in the Litigation Lotto, though.

"With the can opener, Lorraine Squicciarini opened a hole in the bottom of the Aquanet can in an attempt to clear the nozzle," Sounds intentional to me.

Off the subject of the article, but I saw saw a piece on Les Paul last night. (I just checked out your page) Did you catch it? He's 90 and still regularly performs. Unbelieveable.

I fail to see how opening the bottom of the can with a can opener will unclog the opening. This was a dreadful way to go, but I don't how suing the hairspray company is going to make it any better. It is clearly printed on all cans, do not puncture, incinerate, or USE around an open flame. All this is going to do is let the general public know about some serious mental issues in the family.

"With the can opener, Lorraine Squicciarini opened a hole in the bottom of the Aquanet can in an attempt to clear the nozzle," I didn't catch this this first time I read it. She tried to clear the nozzle by opening a hole in the bottom of the can???

Threads like this make me hope I die from a heart attack or aneurism and not from one of the multitude of stupid things I do.

I remember when I was a kid we used to use that stuff for a flame thrower at fire ants.We used it when camping to incinerate wasps. One genius, who shall be nameless, burned a perfectly round hole in the screen-house we ate in...

Yeah, it sounds intentional when written that way, but poor writing could be an explanation, too. Just a thought. It's too hard to understand why anyone would intentionally open a spray can.

I bet the family wins this suit. They shouldn't but they will.

I fail to see how opening the bottom of the can with a can opener will unclog the opening. I imagine she intended to poke (or blow) the nozzle clear from the inside. Not bad thinking, actually, except for the small matter of the high-pressure explosive contents.

Doesn't every aerosol can ever made say right on it, in ALL CAPS, "Do not punture or incinerate can!" ? I was pumping gasoline the other day an saw a big sign that said, "Do Not Ingest."
To: Drew68
Warning! Do not use a can opener on compressed aerosol cans!
How does one unclog a nozzel from opening up the bottom of the can?
