9. Rep. Michael Castle (Del.) As president of the moderate Republican Main Street Partnership and key player in the so-called Tuesday Group lunches, he is a ring-leader of RINOs. He’s teamed with Democrats to make federal funding of embryonic stem cell research one of his top priorities.

I am so thankful to see this (bleep) on the list.

The sad thing is that Delaware has drifted so far to the left, he is still actually considered a conservative.........I'm so glad I don't live there anymore.

We can't?

Okay, answer me this riddle.

RINO=REPUBLICAN IN NAME ONLY

Can YOU tell me McCain's loyalty to the Republican Party is absolute? If so, why then did McCain break ground by being offered the VP slot on the Democrat presidential ticket last year?

A good "Republican" doesn't have to be a conservative or a Liberal. Being a good "Republican" is nothing more then being loyal to Party. Which is why I'm not a Republican. I'm a conservative. I'm loyal to conservatism first.

A good "Republican" does not flirt with the offer to be VP for the Dems for weeks. A good "Republican" would result in instantaneous dismissive calls by everyone on both aisles at the possibility of joining the opposing party's ticket. That didn't happen with McCain, because Mccain isn't loyal to Party. he's loyal to self. As result it was the story for weeks during the campaign of will he/won't he.

He does classify in the purest sense as a RINO accordingly.

Frist, as someone else asked about his absence, does not. Without question he's weak. But no one doubts his loyalty is to the Republican Party. Which is why he is not a RINO.

Boehlert's #7. I wouldn't be surprised that, judged by his voting record alone, he would be even higher on the list, but his relative obscurity pushed him down in the rankings. Unfair! ;-)

You're overstating the case. McCain's 2002 score - 78, his 2003 score - 75, his 2004 score - 72. His lifetime ACU score was from being right back in the 80s and early 90s before he became the media's darling "maverick". Each year, his ACU score sinks lower and lower.

Unconstitutional war? Lol, brother are you in the wrong place : )

I have a problem with his handling of the border issues and illegal immigration. Other than that, he's not doing too bad of a job. What concerns me regarding kissing up, is his "friendship" with Wild Bill Clinton.

Kick back and relax, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

The VP slot was pushed by Dems and the MSM. Timmy Russert and the gang found that tantilizing.
He didn't break ground, they did. He wasn't interested.

Party loyalty comes with organizing the Senate and getting bills on the floor. From there I don't think your vote should belong to any party.

RINOs exist because the GOP doesn't care.

There are no immutable, non-negotiable core principles that define what it means to be a Republican. They blow the lid off previous spending records, they happily pass wasteful pork bills, they don't seem to have time to get rid of that Ponzi scheme called Social Security or eliminate the AMT, they assault the First Amendment, they impose restrictions, they enlarge subsidies. They don't get PBS off the public teat, nor do they care to eliminate cabinet departments they promised to get rid of when campaigning.

In short, the Republican Party is just The Other Big Stupid Government Party.

So, nobody should be surprised that RINOs exist and thrive in a principle-free party of political hacks, parasites and hangers-on.

Looks like they are coordinating on a push for McCain in 08 by leaving his name off their list of Rinos. Good try, but I won't vote for the McCain under any circumstances.

That may be true. However, the criteria is so narrow with under ten votes used in each year that a trend might not be gleened from a couple of years.

Party loyalty comes with organizing the Senate and getting bills on the floor.

And McCain fails that test! Forget the 80% if the most important issues are in the 20%.

OK!
It was January 2000. I had a choice in the NH primary. McCain or Bush.
I voted for the guy that lost.
Thank God he went on to win.
