There are no immutable, non-negotiable core principles that define what it means to be a Republican. They blow the lid off previous spending records, they happily pass wasteful pork bills, they don't seem to have time to get rid of that Ponzi scheme called Social Security or eliminate the AMT, they assault the First Amendment, they impose restrictions, they enlarge subsidies. They don't get PBS off the public teat, nor do they care to eliminate cabinet departments they promised to get rid of when campaigning.
In short, the Republican Party is just The Other Big Stupid Government Party.
So, nobody should be surprised that RINOs exist and thrive in a principle-free party of political hacks, parasites and hangers-on.
Looks like they are coordinating on a push for McCain in 08 by leaving his name off their list of Rinos. Good try, but I won't vote for the McCain under any circumstances.
I would say there are many times more than that.
Having heard "good things" on Bill Bennett's morning show about him, I didn't know Mitt Romney was pro-infanticide. He's most definitely a non-starter for 2008.
Top 9 are all East Coast/New England. Verrrry interesting!
Rudolph Giuliani: A gun-grabbing, gay loving, pro-abort, big spending, pro-UN corrupt scumbag who is beloved by the mainstream media.
Put Mitch Daniels on the list [Indiana governor]. A firm believer that big government always knows what's best for the public.
If you had to make a comprehensive list of RINOs, it would be a mile long. Lindsay Graham belongs at the top of the list.
A list like this is not complete without Governor Arnold and Congressman Bill Thomas.
Let's see....In teh past year or so, Ricky has:
Supported Pro-abort Arlen over Pat Toomey
Supported an increase in the minimum wage
Supported LOST
Sponsored a bill to guarantee Socialist Insecurity payments from an insolvent system.....
and in a recent Townhall.com column urged Americans to embrace the call to "give" a higher percentage of our GDP to foreign aid. I'm sure Kofi Annan was tickled at the prospect of having even more money to waste, er, um, invest in developing nations.
Yeah, some conservative. Conservatives can no longer afford to send him to "serve". He's not conservative and he's not principled. He's a self-serving political tramp who will do or say anything to be re-elected. Game Over.
