"I really don't no, it's not important no, not to me it's not," said Tom Matzat of Niles"
What????
Since Conyers is from Michigan, perhaps the State Bird should be the Dodo, or Booby.
The loon. If it's good enuf for Minnesota....
"...the Warbler is find but we don't have it down here it's up north,.."
Hint, hint: No state has yet honored the "rock dove", aka "pigeon".
How about the Snowbird?
LOL! I'm too chicken to make a suggestion of my own--I fear I'd just be parroting someone else's.
Considering the state of the American automobile industry and the city of Detroit, I think the dodo would be appropriate.
The dead parrot.
Oh, flap your wings a little and just "take off". If your suggestion nosedives into a cold lake, we wouldn't squawk too much.
Personally, I'm crowing about the state bird of PA: the ruffed grouse.
Is that thing resting, or just pining for the fiords?
Tied too closely to Toledo. (via Max Klinger)
It's a blue state - change it to the buzzard.
You win. The dodos need to name the bird after themselves.
That's a Norwegian Blue.......and it's just restin'.
Go Bucks
In God We Trust.....Semper Fi
I would be willing to change my name to michigan_parrot for a fee.
Yesterday, Governor Granholm vetoed a new reform welfare bill that would have mandated benefits being ended after four years. She said it wasn't fair. Four years of free money, and it's not enough for the Dems.
Now this bird bill. What a sad pathetic bunch of losers. Michigan is going the way of Taxachusetts.
Oh no, no, no........you are mistaken...PA is on the fast track to perdition...The Michigan legislature should take a page from the PA legislature.....you see, our legislators, after voting themselves a HUGE pay increase, found it necessary to introduce legislation declaring THE POLKA to be the official state dance. Now there's some really important and heady stuff that needed to be addressed, instead of say, life insurance benefits for our National Guardsmen....or ...um.....property tax relief that they've been toying with for over 30 years......God help us all.
or perhaps Blackbird
