Lawyers May Challenge NSA Wiretapping Wednesday, December 28, 2005
WASHINGTON Defense lawyers in Florida, New York, Ohio and Virginia are considering filing legal challenges on behalf of suspected or convicted terrorists in response to the National Security Agency's wiretapping program. After the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the Bush administration authorized NSA to eavesdrop without court approval on people inside the United States with suspected ties to Al Qaeda or who may have been planning a terror attack. Lawyers question the program, saying the government may have withheld information uncovered during wiretaps to get more convictions, according to a report in The New York Times. They say they want to know if any of the information uncovered could have exonerated their clients. They add that they think the government should have stated during court cases involving the suspects that information had been acquired through a wiretap. Lawyers for convicted terrorist Iyman Faris, of Ohio, who admitted he was part of a failed bomb plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge, may file a civil lawsuit against President Bush for ordering what they say was an illegal wiretap against him. I seriously doubt that any conversations terrorists had to their terrorist Motherland would in any way prove their innocence. I mean honestly, they weren't phoning their mothers. "Hey mom...no, not planning any terrorist attacks lately...".
I saw that segment on the Fox Report. They're going to try to get a sympathetic judge.
Loouwyahrs --- I can hear Michael Savage right now.
Better start using carrier pigeons to file those briefs.
Rats are attracted to garbage
From what I've heard most of these vermin waived their right to appeal in their plea bargains. Also, if they were wiretapped the prosecution would have had to make this info available to the defense.
wasn't there just a Article posted that said that no dents were made in Terrorism with these WireTaps?
May? May?? Right. And the sun may come up in the east tomorrow.
See, this shows how wonderfully advanced our criminal law system is. We spend more time and assets on the rights of suspects than on defending the society.
Now you know why Ann Coulter wished the terrorists had flown into the NYT rather than WTC Buildings . . .
I seriously doubt they even get that far - federal plea bargains, for instance, contain a waiver of rights to appeal.
Americans WILL challenge leftist scum lawyers after they allow another terror attack on America. The pitchforks and torches never go out of style but treason will get someone hurt.

Proposed new federal rule of civil and criminal procedure.
"All attorneys filing claims against the United States government or any military, intelligence or law enforcement agency or subdivision thereof, shall list below their signatures on all pleadings their personal and business telephone numbers and e-mail addresses."
These lawyers are no different from Arlen Specter, who is a disgrace and a risk to American national security. The GOP should remove Specter from the chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary committee. Their failure to do so makes him a threat to our security.
One knew this had to happen! Thank you New York Slimes!
"I mean honestly, they weren't phoning their mothers. "Hey mom...no, not planning any terrorist attacks lately..."
Correction: I should say he's going to challenge the president since it was his authority.
This story clearly demonstrates the other side of the NSA issue to the public. I hope it story fuels up the Bush administration and Congress to go on the offensive!! It's providential in a way
