SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The city of San Francisco reached agreement with the National Rifle Association on Wednesday to temporarily delay enforcing part of a voter-approved handgun ban.

Voters on Nov. 8 approved banning the sale and possession of handguns in the city. Residents still must get rid of their weapons by April 1. But the NRA and city agreed to delay from Jan. 1 to March 1 the deadline for banning the sale of handguns in the city.

In exchange for the postponement, the NRA agreed to abandon its bid for a temporary restraining order and instead have the issue litigated in the courts - a move that will ultimately resolve it more quickly. The NRA sought a restraining order the day after the measure was approved.

Gay sex kills way more SF residents than handguns ever will.

How about a law banning gay sex.

I wouldn't live in a city that bans guns.

BTW, San Franfreako was named after a monk. How's that for "separation of church and state"

The very first time ever that the left cared about "the will of the people". Usually they're asking some court to overturn something voted in popular sovereignty.

But today you just swear that the man was shot dead by a gun that didn't make any noise.

But it wasn't the bullet that laid him to rest, (it) was the low spark of high-heeled boys.

High-heeled boys. Bwam-to-wham-tem. High-heeled boys. Bwam-to-wham-tem.

Everyone will be so much safer when they turn over their guns and the gang members are still armed.

Can you imagine any sane person giving up their gun?

"Can you imagine any sane person giving up their gun?"

No, that would be IN-sane.

After the ban goes into effect, one can expect to see a dramatic rise in assaults, burglaries, and robberies. The libs response will not be to realize the ban has disarmed the populace, but they will instead demand the gun ban be widened.

No, that would be IN-sane.

Considering that disarming citizenry worldwide is one of the goals of the United Nations, could one say that it is UN-sane?

How about a law banning gay sex.

What!? And preclude them from perpetuating their species?

Oh wait? Did I say that?

If you live in Oakland, you REALLY need a gun!

After gun confiscation goes into effect, and murder rates triple, my bet is the SF city officials will blame it on guns being smuggled in from Fresno.

I predict SF is going to start finding more bodies dumped in parks, alleyways, etc. If someone in the city has to kill someone in self-defense with a handgun, he'd be nuts to call the cops.
