Democrats Seek Records on Romney, Others
AP on Yahoo ^ | 12/30/05 | AP - Boston

Posted on 12/30/2005 9:41:54 AM PST by NormsRevenge

BOSTON - The Democratic National Committee requested public records from state agencies on their dealings with Gov. Mitt Romney, who may run for president in 2008. His spokesman called it the work of a "dirty tricks attack squad."

The DNC is seeking similar records on at least 10 other potential candidates for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, spokesman Luis Miranda said.

The letters dated Dec. 7 ask for "any and all records of communication" and are signed by Shauna Daly, who provided a post office box in Washington as her address.

Miranda confirmed to The Boston Globe that Daly is employed by the Democrats as deputy research director. She had previously worked for the presidential campaign of John Edwards, the former senator from North Carolina, and in other races.

The party is asking for records as far back as 1947, the year Romney was born.

Romney is "a Republican with well-known presidential ambitions, and these days, that's not that special," Miranda said. "This is just real standard operating procedure." Campaigns use research in hopes of finding controversial, embarrassing or previously undisclosed information about a politician's past.

Daly's letters request that any fees be waived, but Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said fulfilling the requests wills cost tens of thousands of dollars.

"Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for the Democratic National Committee to put its dirty tricks attack squad to work against Mitt Romney, so we'll bill them for it," Fehrnstrom said.

Romney announced Dec. 14 that he would not seek a second term as governor, and although he has yet to say whether he will run for the GOP nomination, it is widely speculated that he will.

Gubernatorial records became an issue in presidential politics in 2004. Democrat Howard Dean, who ran for president, came under criticism because he had some records in Vermont sealed when he left office as that state's governor in 2003. In November, the state Supreme Court ruled that Dean had acted legally.

Obviously, we can't let someone that cavalier become president of the U.S.

Maybe even better they could do a story about Romney's low-life cousin's husband who got a D+ in high school algebra 42 years ago. Pity we never lived in a trailer though.

I did a search today on Shauna Daly because, according to Factcheck's June 16 article on Bama's bogus COLB, she allegedly had asked Hawaii DOH for "any and all things that we could get our hands on," was the quote. That was close enough to her "any and all records of communication" clause back in 2005.

Daly landed a controversial position in the WH Legal Office. She has NO legal or paralegal experience, and was a fanatic muckraker for the Dems, gathering dirt on everyone.

When I learned about the connection between Shaun Daly's 1995 dirt excavation on everyone who would be running for President in 2008, and who is now firmly entrenched in the WH legal office, and the 1995 launch of Obama's Senatorial Campaign at the home of Ayers & Dohrn, I jumped up and said,"Holy Sh*t! That was not the kickoff of Obama's run for the Senate. That was the start of Obama's run for President in 2008. The bee-ach started gathering dirt on everyone who would run against Obama in the 2008 Presidential Campaign.

What about his Senate seat? THAT was never in doubt after they eliminated his competition. No, this Senate thing was just a minor layover on his way to the WH. Just vote PRESENT and no one will notice you.

So far, the plan has worked perfectly...right up until he hits that Constitutional eligibility thing

Thats how fascists rise to power. Zero is not an American. Hhe has no genuine American values, no mater where he might have been hatched.

Like you I am quite convinced that he does not satisfy the requirements of Article II, section 1 of the Constitution.

And the degree to which the MSM will not briach the subject realistically, is a mark on just how seriously Zero's administration takes the matter. They tale it seriously enough to put plants right here on FR, another mark on the prove that what we say is true. We shall not giveup that fight until we prove the truth.

And remember, the solution we seek is a politcal remedy, not a legal one necessarily. If every American knew the truth, a majority of our electorate would be demanding that Zero be put to the test of it.

And when that test comes, Zero will be forced to resign, just like Nixon did.

Are you reading this Obots? Good. Take it to the bank, if you can find a genuinely solvent one.

They want records for Republicans that go back to birth. I'm surprised they don't go back to gestation. They'll even investigate the family and go back years before their birth.

But for democrats, they don't want to divulge records from yesterday. Outrageous!

Shauna Daly, a 29-year-old Democratic operative, was named last month to the new job of White House counsel research director. Though she is inside one of the most powerful legal offices in the land, Miss Daly holds no law degree and doesn’t list any legal training on her resume. Her sole experience has been as an opposition researcher for Democratic political campaigns: She helped dig up dirt on rivals, or on her own nominee to prepare for attacks.

The addition to White House counsel Greg Craig’s staff has alarmed some Republicans, who consider it a politicization of the office, and has irritated others who say that Democratic lawmakers who railed against Republican opposition researchers in legal positions in the past are now silent.

[...]

A number of conservative and liberal lawyers and operatives confirmed that it is unusual for someone with Miss Daly’s background to be working in the White House counsel’s office, though some Clinton-era lawyers said that administration had non-lawyers working in the office.

The White House insists Miss Daly’s work will be limited to legal research, like that of a paralegal, and won’t stray into political muckraking.

On the Obama campaign, Miss Daly specialized in preparing for political attacks against Mr. Obama. Thus, one scenario in which her skills would be useful to the White House would involve setting up a “murder board operation,” in which political nominees are subjected to simulated political attacks in order to prepare for the real thing.

Shauna Daly
Dirt-Digging We Can Believe In
March 3, 2009 ·

in Conservative Commentary, Red State

One of the more laughable notions during the campaign was Obama’s claim to represent some sort of “new politics”; one of the sillier fictions of the last several years was that Democrats were less prone to dirty tricks and bending the apparatus of government to narrow partisan interests than Republicans. But of course, in any election season there are people eager to lie to themselves and be lied to. Young voters in particular seemed especially, cloyingly eager to swallow this particular nonsense. Worse yet, people like David Brooks (see here and here and here), who in a sane world should have known better, talked themselves into ignoring the warning signs that were written all over Obama’s record and career that he’s never been anything but a front man for bareknuckles Chicago machine politics that runs on patronage, favor-trading and dirt and never, ever places any value above partisan entrenchment and the enrichment of its supporters.

The saga of Shauna Daly is yet another in a seemingly endless series of proofs of this over the first six weeks of united Democratic governance.

In late January, Daly was hired as “White House counsel research director”. Daly is 29 and has no experience relevant to the job, having worked for the DNC and a number of Democratic campaigns, including Obama’s:

Daly apparently got the job through the influence of a man who has made a career of flacking for the Daley machine and, apparently, masterminding leaks of divorce files that crippled Obama’s political opponents:

David Axelrod, a senior White House adviser to President Obama, had a hand in bringing Miss Daly to the campaign, and is thought to have been instrumental in bringing her to the White House.

A month later, she was back at the DNC:

Shauna Daly, 29, will be the DNC’s research director, returning to the fast-paced realm of bare-knuckles politics that associates said suits her best.

Given that the White House counsel’s office deals in privileged legal advice to the president, including on sensitive issues of national security, there are reasons to be concerned that Daly has used her brief tenure in the office for gathering information that was never supposed to be used for partisan purposes:

Daly did not waste her time in an office that had reams of Bush Administration documents related to such things as the firings of U.S. Attorneys, the use and internal debate over the USA PATRIOT Act, FISA, and the Scooter Libby and Karl Rove investigations, among others.

“She saw everything, and who knows what she was able to scan and pull out on data sticks,” says a Senate Republican Judiciary Committee staffer. “We’ll find out soon enough when we see what the DNC is putting out during [Sen. Patrick] Leahy’s ‘truth committee’ hearings.”

+++

“She realized that she could do more with all the material she saw outside of the building than inside, where she’d be bound by the rules and legalities of the White House Counsel’s Office. Now she isn’t,” says a DNC staffer who works in the communications field. “She’s good at what she does; her time at the White House means we’ve got a mother load of material that will have Republicans scrambling. At least that’s what we hope.”

Muckmaker Shauna Daly returning to DNC.
by admin on February 28, 2009 · 0 comments

in Conservative Commentary, Red State

Quick Take:

You may have remembered that Ms. Daly had been placed by the Obama White House last month in its counsel office, despite the fact that she has no actual legal credentials. It was widely assumed - justifiably, in my opinion - that this was due to the fact that she’s quite the political sheet-sniffer, which was apparently what the administration thought that it needed right now.

Apparently the DNC needs her more:

A Democratic operative whose hiring a month ago by the White House legal office raised conservative hackles is leaving to go back to work at the Democratic National Committee.

Shauna Daly, 29, will be the DNC’s research director, returning to the fast-paced realm of bare-knuckles politics that associates said suits her best.

The White House has not decided whether to replace her, a spokesman said.

******

As the Washington Times reported on February 9, President Obama invented a new position into which he slipped one Shauna Daly. Daly has been what is called an “opposition researcher” for the Obama campaign for some time. It was her job to find an opponent’s worst dirt, his most troublesome secrets, so that strategy on how best to destroy him can be planned.

And now, Obama has invented a new job to reward dirty tricks squad member, Daly. The position of “White House counsel research director,” one that never existed before, is now attached to White House counsel Greg Craig’s office and this has caused some raised eyebrows in the legal community.

You see, unlike staffers of the White House counsel’s office appointed by other presidents, Miss Daly has no legal training. No schooling, no past work at law, no law degree. Her sole past work has been that of a political nature.

She is just a dirt digger. Nothing more.

This means, of course, that Obama has just politicized the White House counsel’s office. It is no longer one that chiefly concerns itself with the defining legal reasoning upholding presidential decisions, but one that will actively participate in political machinations. It has gone form advisory to participating in campaigns.

After unprecedented access to Bush Administration documents, dirty trickster Shauna Daly has left the White House Counsel’s office to go to work for the Democratic National Committee.

Daly, 29, had no legal experience when hired to work for White House Counsel Greg Craig, but she had earned a reputation as a dirt-digger against Republican candidates. She formerly worked for the DNC as a dirty trickster.

According to Democrats, Daly’s short stay in the White House gave her unprecedented access to all sorts of documents from the Bush Administration – documents that can be used against Bush officials by Sen. Patrick Leahy and by Rep. John Conyers – who has long sought to impeach Bush and staffers over our nation’s war on Islamic terrorism.

The American Spectator reports that Daly had documents related to the firings of U.S. Attorneys, the use of the Patriot Act, FISA, and the Scooter Libby and Karl Rove investigations.

According to a DNC staffer: “She realized that she could do more with all the material she saw outside of the building than inside, where she’d be bound by the rules and legalities of the White House Counsel’s Office. Now she isn’t. She’s good at what she does; her time at the White House means we’ve got a mother load of material that will have Republicans scrambling. At least that’s what we hope.”

Then we can have a second term of Obama in the whitehouse instead of Romney.

I've been collecting comments from the Hot Air blog, circa June 12-13, that I just happened to read. They were reactions to the bogus COLB had posted to the Daily Kos. A whole lot of people spotted the same anomalies as I did. Others simply said it looks "fake." I doubt that any of them expected this thing to take on a life of its own, with Obama factchecking shills going out of their way to "verify" that the image copy was genuine.

With all of the criticisms raised, why didn't any among them confirm their assessments as I did? I really expected there to be at least one of them challenging the opposition with some concrete evidence.

Here on FR, we had our own, Usmcobra, also pointing to the some of the same signs of forgery.

Other than TechDude, who swiped some of my ideas and forged the rest, it seems like the job fell on my shoulders to finish.

WND Author, Jerome Corsi, read my report and he agreed that the COLB was a fake. But, now, everyone is ignoring what is, unquestionably, a criminal act of document fraud, and focusing only on the NBC question.

It's been ten months since the bogus COLB was posted by ZERO, and none of the people suing him are pursuing the criminal aspect of this act. Not even Orly, who has sent everything, but the kitchen sink and the forged COLB, to AG Holder.

Given the great lengths that O's supporters and apologists have gone to defending the original scam (sic) image, and given that members of Congress and the Judiciary have been duped by it, the lawyers suing ZERO refer to the COLB as if it were genuine, but one that could have been issued to a foreign-born child.

Add to that the incessant attacks on me, and all of that should have been enough for anyone to wonder why -- as in "Why attack Polarik? Why not ask ZERO to produce the actual paper COLB used to make the scan and show it to Congress, the Courts, or even the Media, instead of trashing him and everyone else sincerely interested in having this matter quickly resolved?"

Where were all of the members of Hot Air and other conservative blogs who said the same things as I did? Why didn't they conduct at least one, confirmatory analysis? Why didn't they, at least, verbally lend their support when they knew I was right?

It's like an illegal alien who stole the identity of a very rich victim, and used it to buy a new house, a new car, a new yacht, and a withdrawl of $150,000 from the victim's bank account.

Then, when the guy is caught, the DA learns that all of the money has been spent, the car and yacht have been sold, and the house has gone into foreclosure. So, what does the DA do?

Because the person is not a citizen, the DA decides to drop all criminal charges for identity theft and several counts of grand larceny and if the illegal agrees to leave the country.

But, wait, there's more! The lawyers for the DNC and the ACLU jump into the fray and argue that the illegal should be allowed to stay and become a citizen because he is "such a highly respected leader of his community," and that deporting him would cause "civil unrest and acts of disobedience" in that community.

Back in 1981, Bill Ayers, the domestic terrorist, said it best when he was arrested and then let go on a technicality:

"Guilty as hell. Free as a bird. America is a great country!"

It won't be a great country anymore if people like Ayers are running our government.

I have this simple little test that not one of the Obama acolytes has yet dared to take.

Scan a blank COLB sheet or even something that looks like one

Using a laser printer type in the words on Obama’s Colb and scan that sheet

using a photoshop program type the words onto a copy of the original scan of the blank sheet.

Compare the results in the images in size of bytes and quality then compare those results with Obama’s COLB and draw your own conclusions.

No one has dared to attempt this simple test.....

I wonder why?

You weren’t supposed to notice the work of Shaun Daly ... but since you have, and the criminal enterprise knew someone would eventually, she has been placed in the administration’s protected circle. Rush asked rhetorically prior to the November voting ‘who is behind this empty suit poseur’? Even Ayers is not smart enough to be the ultimate behind this well designed and democrat controlled usurpation of the Constitutional Republic.

Loosen your Romney kneepads, they're mistakenly reducing everything you read to Romney relevance.

Hot Air is full of hot air.

Well, at least I found eight solid votes among them that were right on target about the COLB forgery.
