The way I understand the National Secrets Act in the UK, if this happened there we wouldn't even be having this conversation as the reporters would already be in jail for a long time, with or without revealing their sources.

LOL. This "investigation" should cheer you up. Indeed, based on the MSM's howling and spin, we know that the leaker is not on our side. We know that the DOJ is. Hehehehe....

True, likely a troll. Thanks for the reference. I googled it and got a ton of information.

Quite true, and even IF it was a crime, because the information was classified, it cannot legally be released to the media.

Yeah, informing the media instead of the proper authorities (who can actually do something about wrongdoing) makes a poor case for whistleblower protection.

It makes it easy to identify the Communist Cells that still exist in this Country. Never forget that just because the USSR died, the movement is alive and well. There is a goal to bury us. Never forget Nikita at the UN.

They'll complain about this part -

If the report reveals evidence of a criminal violation it will not be sent to the whistleblower, nor does it become part of the public file. Instead, the agency is required to forward the information directly to the Attorney General and to notify the Office of Personnel Management and the Office of Management and Budget of the referral.

Since he was part of the problem, however, this part here

If the Special Counsel determines that a disclosure involves counterintelligence or foreign intelligence information, which is prohibited from disclosure by law or Executive order, the disclosure will be transmitted to the National Security Advisor, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in the House and Select Committee on Intelligence in the Senate.

would be the overriding concern, so in effect they could raise the alarm by telling other members of Congress what's up. This would have all been doing according to procedure, and the whistleblower would have been safe from any repercussion. As is stands now, he or she broke the law, and broke it good and hard. Either we really drop the hammer on the violator, or we may as well save ourselves some money and just stop classifying things.

TY for posting this and now just getting the LIBS to learn to read is the next task. Remember, No Child Left Behind.

Pukin is gonna get his frog-march, one way or another!

Don't hold your breath. We thought we'd see more punitive action against Sandy Bergler, but all he got was a slap (if even that) on the wrist.

I doubt we see much actually become of all this. I hope I am wrong. I doubt that I am.

This could go even higher than the idiots at the NY Times. Could it be some democrat politicians and their staff were involved as well?

The MSM media has been asking for a bitchslap for years now with their bogus stories from "anonymous sources" and invented news. They better get ready because a major one is coming.

They didn't. The press is spinning again. The justice department announced the investigation. The MEDIA spun it to suggest that it is just now getting started. My guess is that they have been investigating for a year, and made the announcement now, because they have nailed the culprits.

Daily Kos is melting down over this...

Some intellectual by the name of 'yojimbo' posted this....

"F** that illegal mob that stole the keys to our White House. Fear is for losers. And for Abramoff's whores. Find your inner Feingold. The Bush Crime Family is the enemy of America. Crush them with turning out the vote. Crush their sleazy attempts to intimidate voters. Crush their ploys to disinfranchise legally cast votes with their partisan computers. Monkey wrench their own monkey wrenches. Let them choke on their own cake."

First time I've visited that web site - thought I was at the DU site.

A truly sad collection of morons.

That is my guess as well....the investigation has been going on for quite some time, and is probably coming to an end, rather than just beginning.
