That would be Houston, too.
Who is saying "let 'em drop"?
Americans, and Freepers are the most generous people on the planet. You don't know how much of my own coin I've donated to help the folks hit by Katrina, apart from Federal tax dollars. But that isn't relevant.
I've visited your lovely state, and seen first hand the problems with corruption and its results.
But, truth be told, I can't ever remember hearing from storm or tornado or wildfire or earthquake victims the whining of government officials and citizens that I have heard from this storm from the folks of New Orleans.
They blamed President Bush, Michael Brown, and everyone else, when it was their own fault for the lack of execution of disaster plans--plans for an event that everyone knew would happen sooner or later.
Blanco and Nagin need to be run out on a rail and replaced by real leaders if you are ever going to get your state and New Orleans back on its feet again. They don't care one wit about the people affected by Katrina--they just want to hold onto their own wretched power and fiefdoms.
If that pushes your hot button, that's a shame. But I can't change that. I live in a corrupt state, too.
But if ever there was hope for a change in Lousiana, it is NOW. And the present leadership has to go--NOW.
Otherwise, it will be a return to things as usual.
Whatever you choose--to stay and fight, or to leave the state, I wish you well.
But I didn't cause the situation you are in, and I damn well don't expect to pay for a return to the previous status quo.
Your concern for us po' old troublemakers is so touching. Next time we manufacture a hurricane we'll be sure to have all our ducks in a row so none of you good folks are put out.

Sarcasm is not your strong suit.
Sorry we couldn't see eye to eye.
But one of us is too angry to see.
Making promises you can keep isn't yours. Either find somebody else's state to "take back", or make your arguments without the lacing of bullshit. G'night.
-Dan
Pray tell--just what do you think my responsibility is as your fellow citizen to you and your state, and to what economic level?
And don't let that huge chip on your shoulder prevent you from answering, please.
I may do a lot of things, but I keep my promises and I don't BS.
