And we as the standard barriers "Progressive Relativism" is the way to a bright future. Think of what a good job we've done in France and most of the EU, come join us into a brave new world.

Hopefully this ends our tax dollars going to study anything at these crack houses. Wasn't there just a study released last week saying religious folks are happier folks.

When I went to click on this, I was a bit apprehensive -- thinking that the title was "straight" and the posting was the work of a troll. Glad I went ahead -- great article.
Reminds me of something C.S. Lewis (I think probably in the 40s) about the choice "between Arthur and Mordred" getting always clearer and more unavoidable, a theme further developed in That Hideous Strength.
There was something too in the Vermont Royster column the WSJ traditionally runs for Christmas (also originally appearing in the 40s) about the danger that men would again fall into the darkness of believing that government was supreme.

"In Aug., 2003, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) announced the results of their $1.2 million tax-payer funded study. It stated, essentially, that traditionalists are mentally disturbed. Scholars from the Universities of Maryland, California at Berkeley, and Stanford had determined that social conservatives, in particular, suffer from 'mental rigidity,' 'dogmatism,' and 'uncertainty avoidance,' together with associated indicators for mental illness." (B.K. Eakman, Chronicles, Oct. 2004, pp. 28-29) This would be a good time to remind everyone that in the Soviet Union, if you objected to the system, you would be considered to be mentally ill, and committed to an asylum (or ordered to a gulag, or just executed).
As always, leftists believe that theirs is the only good way, and that if you disagree with them, there must be something wrong with you. Or, it could be that you're just plain evil. So, off to the looney bin. Or jail. Or the grave.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Explain THIS to a liberal who always goes on with that constantly misquote one-liner, ".....seperation of dchurch and state..."--not that THAT matters--for as far as I have always been told--our " Freedom " comes at the hands of the generous, bellevolsnt gov't whose job it is to take care us of from the craddle to the gave!!!....

Great article. Bookmarked.
"In describing Christian America, Benjamin Franklin observed: "Atheism is unknown there. Infidelity is rare and secret; so that persons may live to a great age in that country without having their piety shocked by meeting with either Atheist or an Infidel."
I'm afraid Ben Franklin wouldn't recognize America today.

Are they taking Michael Savage's assertion that "Liberalism Is A Mental Disorder" and turning it around and thowing it back at us? Sort of like the GI in the foxhole picking up an incoming grenade and thowing it back at the thrower just in time for it to explode?
Who's sick, the generators of peace, prosperity and strength, or the perverted minds of the Socialist Left? I know which one is sick.

"'mental rigidity,' 'dogmatism,' and 'uncertainty avoidance' " I'll take these as compliments. I think the author plays up the individualism a bit too much. If Christians set themselves up as individualists then they will be picked off one by one.
Ultimately, I think all Christians need to do two three things:
1) Get in a church, yes, one that has 4 walls and an organized structure
2)Withdraw your children from public schools (a christian should have many children if they can)
3)Own guns and plenty of them.
