Read about a surfer in Hawaii who lived near the North Shore (near Sunset, if you're familiar with the area). His house was up on stilts, of course, and the whole front of his bedroom had those accordion doors across the front that could be pushed back to open the entire room to the lanai. He said he had a king bed on wheels and he and his wife would roll the bed out onto the lanai area at night. Basically, sleep with the ocean breezes and the waves right there. How cool is that?

I am carrying this image inside my mind -- it is that cool!!! Yes, I could handle this very nicely. :)

And your idea:

You know those beachhouses with the crow's nests---that no one ever goes up to? I always thought that would be great to screen in and put a bed in. Up high, so not as buggy, but still great breezes, etc

Great minds think alike! I could definitely handle this too!

On top of all the fun, I think sleeping outdoors (in a screened in porch) at the beach would be just plain healthy. I know my sinuses would agree. And forget about buying those noise machines---you'd have the real boomers there for your alpha-wave enjoyment!

Would never porch in my neighborhood. Besides I can't see the television from the porch.

check this out-- I think I'd put the porch floor up top, especially if I were near the beach, but even in the trees, how cool (literally)--

My daughter's favorite memory is going to my parents in MS and sitting on the porch on the swing. The swing was a back seat of a car. That was so comfortable! I see all the new houses being built here and none have porches. We have one plus a raised patio in the back. I have a swing on the patio. My daughter and I were sitting on it one day during the summer and I kept being attacked by hummingbirds. We finally decided that my red shirt was attracting them.

I remember those. We never thought of what it contained.

Shame on you and your neighbors for laughing at your poor mother's incontinence...

Sometimes the dogs even did it. That was one funny place.

lol.

Talk to my mother-in-law. She's got a dynomite TV in the cabana near her swim pool. She floats and watches all the great Democrat MSM heroes of hers. Walked in, visiting, one time and she was reading Helen Thomas' autobiography in the pool, and she made the mistake of trying to tell me about Helen. She got so upset by my calm assertions, she flew into a rage, and into the pool went Helen's autobiography. Death by drowning. I had nothing to do with it.

No doubts about it clearing up your sinuses. Before arriving on the west coast, I'd been told about a huge tsunami wave which had taken a number of sleeping beach campers out to sea in 1964. My first time sleeping at night on the beach was after a 15-mile hike. I didn't sleep. I watched ships passing into and out of the San Francisco Bay, and this green light way off in the distance. The waves, pounding, and pounding on the shore were quite dramatic. Over time, I grew addicted to taking rests on the shore, however. Something so soothing as the eternal and rhythmic pounding of the waves. Sure beats the sounds of boomboxes, 911 sirens, and screech of tires. :)

But I was always alert for that "creeper" wave. lol.
