Her career was derailed in 1959 when she was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a Dallas judge for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana. Must have been favoritism shown by the Dallas judge.
More likely one of her mob pals had a quiet word with the judge- possibly Ruby.
