Some members of the governor's staff will return from the three-day holiday on Tuesday to newly renovated offices at the State Capitol. Shortly after the two hurricanes, Gov. Kathleen Blanco decided to renovate some of her staff's offices. At the time of her decision, Blanco also was hinting at deep budget cuts to state programs and the possibility of laying off 20 percent of the state workforce.
The project cost $564,838.
The newly refurbished office space on the sixth floor of the State Capitol includes hookups and mounts for two flat screen televisions, Swedish granite countertops, walnut paneling and frosted laminated glass. The floor, which will not be accessible to the public, was redesigned to add three new offices, a conference room and file storage areas. The week before work began, Blanco ordered a spending and hiring freeze to rein in state government expenses.

I think that New Orleans is part of a script from the Twilight Zone. Honestly, the people and the money and all of it are so ridiculous.
Yeah...I love that picture. I've been tweaking it and trying to figure out how I might use it here.
Stuck on Stupid!!(Blanco)
Have you all seen the video of Gov. Babineaux Blanco?

I bet the same people who advised her what to wear during a crisis also advised her how to decorate

Actually, the reporter omitted a key point. Blanco canceled a bunch of contracts right after the storm. This one should have been no exception. So Blanco defenders will not have much of a leg to stand on here.
Who da guy wid her? Certainly don't look like her husband.
That pic is from the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival.

This alone shows the woman is completely out of touch with the reality of what has happened in La.
Shades of Marie Antoinette.
It's kind of like Nero fiddling while Rome burned.
"Shades of Marie Antoinette."
Excellent analogy!
MeeMaw is just not up to the task before her. She really is clueless. Those of us who saw the gubernatorial debates between her and Bobby Jindal knew that she would have been best at staying home with the grandchildren and tending to her garden.
BTTT
I wonder if she spent tax $ on the make-over she had for her Congressional hearings.
Ha yes, our elected Republicans love to take photo ops with Dems. It's kinda odd how that works.
They all rub shoulders together for the most part. That was back when she was Lt. Governor so she was still somewhat benign.
Since when is it the business of congress where any citizen lives or buys property? Last time I looked people were free to live wherever they wanted.
as long as it isn't in New London, Connecticut.
