I watched it. I think they're both losers.
HOWEVER, what happened on the Tonight Show was simply wrong. Letterman acted like a silly child on there. Whether one agrees with O'Reilly or not, he should be treated with the respect every person deserves. Stirring his water mug with a pencil, saying what he says is 60% cr@p (without ever watching his show), and all the silly antics Letterman did was just plain silly.
It was a joke, person with no sense of humor.
I used to like Letterman. But he is showing his true colors or sucking up to liberal celebrity guests. I thought his treatment of O'Reilly was horrible.
Don't look now but your vain attempt to cover ignorance with (supposed) humor is showing.
Like I'd really start a petition. Give me a break, and stop posting to me.
Letterman was an *** no doubt. O'Reilly started it out with his snarky winter solstice statement.
Crimea River
I just watched the entire clip and I thought that the conversation was going according to the norm until the moment when Letterman made the crack that 60% of the things that BOR says is "crap." The wild number--60%--is typical of DL; it's the use of the word "crap", and the ad hominem function of the remark, that make the statement beyond the pale.
First, allow me to thank you for your service. If you doubt that I mean that, look at my profile page.
Second, why are you running around FR being hateful? I post something silly, and you jump all over me. No need to be so literal all the time.
Have a good day.
And stop calling me Shirley.
If he did that, no matter how well the argument went, it makes O'Reilly look extremely stupid and uninformed.
Why doesn't FOX feed the first half of Special Report to their network stations to go head to head with CBS, NBC and ABC? It would wipe the floor with them.
THAT is a great idea. Brit Hume's show is the best one on t.v.
"No matter what we think of Letterman, millions watch him. He, like Opra, influence the masses more than O'Reilly ever will."
Certainly. OTOH, millions do NOT know who Dick Cheney is, who Condi Rice is, What the first Amendment is, (What ANY amendment, for that matter).
Most idiots on the street cannot find Iraq on a map and many cannot ID their home state on a map.
Students are being taught that the US attacked Japan at Pearl Harbor.
We MUST take back control of our country, else we won't have one!~
Yeah, that's probably it. Or maybe he was ad libbing without his dem talking points fax so he just thought for a change instead of reciting the talking points.
The funny thing is he was putting down Letterman for using precisely the same argument that he himself always uses. I wonder if he even realizes that he did that.
