Jesus is the new covenant, thus taking authority over all previous ones. Jesus made the entire world "Holy Land" rather than just Israel. In case you dont get it, shut up!
Supercessionism is anti-Semitic, anti-Bible, and anti-G-d.
Read your Bible.
...if it [a covenant] is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. Galatians 3:15
Then say to them, ÂThus says the L-RD G-d: ÂSurely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. Ezekiel 37:21-22

it is just that he is touted on the Left and by the Media for speaking for the entire Right That's right...you admit he is used by the left and media. Yet the right piles on him whenever the leftist media tells them too.
Robertson's words are rarely directly quoted by the media. Yet the right (including Freepers) believe what the left tells them.
BTW...Robertson talks a LOT about Christ and forgiveness. He does not ONLY speak of brimstone. You are typical in mischaracterizing him.

I refuse to believe that God blessed only a certain tract of land. Jesus came to save all humanity and Jesus was the new covenent. The New and Everlasting covenant.
To my knowledge, all of humanity does not live in Israel. While I respect it as the holy land, in which Jesus was born, and the land God promised the Jews a refuge, I dont think God watches over a certain tract of land. He has love for all of earth, and all of people.
You are right...I should look to the bible....
26While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body."
27Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. 28This is my blood of the new and everlasting covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."
If you have more to say, please respond in a mail message, rather than a comment. We will drift the thread off point.

Of course he is used by the Left and the Media because he is such an easy target. The Reverend deserves what he gets from the Media...the Right has Robertson and his ilk to contend with as the Left has the ACLU and Michael Moore...You have to pick your teams and deal with the fallout but I do not have to like or support what Robertson says...

Pat is getting feeble...let's say, more feeble that usual. He should let his son take over his ministry and retire, bless his heart.

Upon reading several "media" accounts of the "outrageous" comments made by Pat Robertson I decided to go to the source and hear Pat's comments in their entirety. What ever single agenda driven "media outlet" failed to mention is that 90% of Robertson's piece on Sharon was pouring praise over him as a close and dear personal friend. He clearly turned toward biblical text to propose that perhaps the new leader of Israel, whomever that may be should not tempt God and do not split Israel. The Godless Marxist left will never turn up the opportunity to take Mr. Robertson out of context and totally misrepresent his intent. Is is becoming increasingly clear that the only thing that the extreme left hates more than Jews is a Christian who is an incorruptible supporter of Israel. See for yourself

The Reverend deserves what he gets from the Media Like I said...this is the point. He does NOT often "deserve" what he gets from the media because his words are twisted. He is not quoted verbatim.
Yet the right rises to the bait and cooperates with the media to bash him.

here is the link from the 700 Club and the response to the Robertson statement.

statement
Robertson Spokesperson Addresses Comments Made by Pat Robertson Regarding Ariel Sharon
CBN.com VIRGINIA BEACH, VA., January 5, 2006Pat Robertson expresses his deep sadness over Ariel Sharons life threatening stroke and concern for Israels future security.
On The 700 Club broadcast this morning Robertson said he has met with Sharon at significant times and considers him a friend. Robertson, an ordained minister and bible teacher, has been a life long supporter of Israel and has continually expressed grave concern over dividing the land of Israel. Robertson pointed to the book of Joel in the Old Testament to show a biblical perspective of Gods view of Israel and efforts made from people who try to divide Gods land:
In the book of Joel, the prophet Joel makes it very clear that God has enmity against those who divide My land. God considers this land to be His. When you read the Bible, He said this is my land. For any Prime Minister of Israel who decides he will carve it up and give it away, God said, No, this is Mine.
According to his spokesperson, Angell Watts, Robertson is simply reminding his viewers what the Bible has to say about efforts made to divide the land of Israel.
She also expressed Dr. Robertsons outrage at People for the American Way, who have a clear left-wing political agenda and who, on an ongoing basis, lift his comments out of context and widely circulate them in an attempt to discredit him.
I think it is pretty clear what Rev. Robertson meant. God is punishing Sharon for his politics in giving away land in Israel. I completely disagree with this interpretation of the Bible and I really dislike the fact that the Media claim that Robertson speaks for the Right when in fact he is a misguided individual, in my opinion. In this case I do not see anything that was taken out of context.

Robertson's words were not quoted verbatim. They never are. He is right that Peopole for the American Way ALWAYS report what he says out of context. And the right jumps on their bandwagon.
I do not agree with Robertson's interpretation either. I believe the specific passage from Joel which Robertson quotes were spoken for a political situation going on in Joel's day; furthermore, I agree with President Bush's policy.
That being said, again, Robertson's words were not quoted verbatim and were distorted for the worst possible effect. The left wing enjoys seeing the right jump on Robertson every time he does this.
