Is this like when Democrats claim victory even though they've lost the W.H., Senate, House and Governor seats?

Wow! What a trophy for the terrorists! They've gotten what they wanted all along!

They stopped democracy in Iraq..no, wait, didn't do that.

They stopped democracy in Afghanistan...umm, wait...

They stopped Lebanon from kicking Syria out! Oh, wait, didn't happen either.

Wait! I know what they did! They solidified their stranglehand on an Islamic Republic! Uh, except Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other countires are experimenting with allowing free votes...

Well, there must have been a victory somewhere...

Anoth attack in the U.S.? Surely the opinion of the Muslim world is still sympathetic to Zar and Al-Quida? Attacks in Australia, Great britain and elsewhere toppled our coalition and their elections? No?

Ah-ha! I have it! They won Spain and France. Hmm...not so sure they want to trumpet those victories though...LOL

You're right. The same devil posesses both groups.

Thank Murtha for this crap.

Murtha Fears a Withdrawal that “Makes It Look Like There’s a Victory” (FR mentioned)

Maybe President Bush should have just come out and stated plainly that the US has been defeated in Iraq. With the other side getting so excited about an announcement of maybe possibly a tentative plan for sort of withdrawal of troops at some point just imagine what their response would be to an announcement of defeat. Those that didn't die from stroking out with excitement would probably be killed by bullets returning to earth from all the celebratory firing of their weapons. </sarcasm>

This should serve as a valuable lesson to the Left and MSM of why you can't announce a time schedule for troop withdrawal.

If it were up to me, I would announce the sending of another 30,000 troops to Iraq and make it abundantly clear that I was doing so to prove that we had not lost in Iraq.

Last check Democrats last the election partially because of their stance on the WOT.

Last I checked they were worried they'd lose election in '06 because they were on the wrong side in the WOT.

Sorry, no, if you want to state they've won here you'll have to have an election prove it.

Having control of the MSM and Democratic Party is no victory. They were already in their corner.

and they can just use the MSM as puppets to trumpet their victory

Isn't that the case for the last 3+ years?

Didn't say they have won. Said they are winning.

We're sittin in the pot and the water is gettin hotter.
I don't think the ballot has the power the halt the advance of either enemy.

Well, that's fine.

Cite measurable stats that prove they are winning.

Ballots, despite your reluntance to use them, do measure the effectiveness of the propaganda in this country. So far they've lost two elections. That is a measurable indicator.

I didn't say I was reluctant to use the ballot. In fact I never miss the opportunity. I'm saying their effectiveness is being constantly eroded.

By the time stats prove we're losing, we've lost.

He claims that the reduction in troops has been planned for a long time

Actually it has..there were reports quoting Generals back in 2003 that said we expected to be there until 2006. Apparently people's memories are short and the articles are now hard to find, but here is one:

Oct. 18, 2003 - Lt. Gen. Thomas F. Metz, commander of the Army's 3rd Corps, has told reporters American troops would be in Iraq for another troop rotation or even two. At the current pace of a turnover of troops every year, that could mean U.S. forces would be in Iraq until 2006.

CBS News

As troop levels are reduced, be prepared for the Democrats to take credit for it and use it as propoganda in their campaigns. And if the security situation in Iraq does not permit significant reductions, it’ll be back to the charges of mismangement.

Absolutely the MSM has been trumpeting victory for the insurgents and terrorists.

Our enemies.....Al Qaeda specifically, terrorists generally, the MSM and all of their supporters in the Democrat Party will undoubtedly continue to turn every victory into a defeat.

In other news, John Kerry claims he was still the lawfully elected President Of The United States due to Bush fraud in Ohio.
