I read the file size wrong. Duh! It's two minutes of video, but 48megs. My computer ace kid isn't at home right now. I'm still trying...

Whoa! That's way too big for 2 minutes. What file format is it in? If it is .wmv, I suggest that you open it in Windows Movie Maker (which comes free and is installed with Windows XP) add a few titles at the beginning and/or end, and then save it to watch on a computer (that's one of the options) and then give it a size to fit it to 10mb and it will figure it out and compress it appropriately. Then try to upload that to putfile.com. WMM is really easy to use to do very basic things and is good at compressing .wmv files down to more desired sizes. And putfile.com, when it is working right, is very easy to upload a file and publish its location and it is free too.

Oh, and if the file size stays at 48mb and you're using only dial up, then it will take literally forever for you to upload the file. That's another reason to compress it first.

Plus, at 48mb it will very likely quickly overload your bandwidth allocation for whatever service you're using to host the file. Where, if you get it down to a reasonable size and use putfile.com and then eventually Google Video, there are no bandwidth restrictions for people downloading and viewing the file. Plus, if it is on Google Video and it gets popular then it will be displayed on their popular videos page and more people will see it.
