Americans overwhelmingly support President Bush's authorization to the National Security Agency to tap the private conversations of U.S. citizens to search for evidence of terrorist activity, an exclusive NewsMax.com poll reveals.
In one of the largest responses to a NewsMax poll ever, more than 150,000 people across the Internet have made their opinions known about this controversy.
And they resoundingly say that the President was justified in taking this action to protect America.
Here is a breakdown of the poll results for several key questions:
1) Has President Bush been justified in tapping the conversation of U.S. citizens?
Justified - 80%
Not Justified - 20%
2) Do you believe the President must have a court-approved warrant to conduct a wiretap?
Yes - 23%
No - 72%
Not Sure - 5%
3) Do you believe President Bush's claim that he undertook this action to protect America?
Yes - 83%
No - 17%
4) How would you rate media coverage about President Bush's actions?
Fair - 20%
Unfair - 80%
Ok, but which side of the aisle usually visits that site?
No less biased that IPSOS.
It's preaching to the choir.
Internet polls are worthless. They are self-selective and unscientific.
Of course the Newmaxx poll is just as biased as the AP poll since mostly Conservatives go ther. However I wouldnt say it is any more biased. AP writes their questions to get the answers they want, while Newsmaxx asks their questions flat out, with no hidden agenda.
Except for giving liberals talking points ,their polls are useless.

If anything...for perspectives. LOL.
You can say that again.............
I am getting tired of this being refered to as wiretapping. It was monitoring the airwaves, which is not the little "black bag" operation wiretapping implies.
It brings up evil visions of guys in trench coats breaking into homes and placing devices on peoples phones. That ain't the way it is.
What if the surveilance actually stops bad people from doing bad things? Gasp!!! Does it violate their right to do bad things if they are caught before committing those bad things because someone caught them using their own bad thing? Bad is in the eyes of the messinger.
Those bad people believe blowing up infidels is not a bad thing, but a good thing.
So stopping those bad people before they commit their bad actions is good also. Better for us than for them.
For example; this oregon paper found the exact opposite. it's readers are primarily liberal, so their poll results are just as surprising as the newsmax poll.
Also, I think it's unlikely that we are the only country that has the capability to eavesdrop on international communications. I guess the Dems never stop to think about that.
You are right about "wiretapping". It is as if the journalists do not keep up with the information and don't allow the story to grow in understanding. Instead they boil things down to the most sensational headline or soundbite and repeat it endlessly.
I think you may have misinterprete dmy meaninng-I have nothing against surveillance of potential badguys. I object to the way the media labels it
