Thanks! We're very honored, especially us Reagan conservatives.

Keep up the good fight, and keep your libs out of power.

Above all, thanks to your troops for the giving of their life’s for the freedom and the protection for us all. I'm sure you'll see us helping out if our conservatives get into power. I'd be extremely disappointed if we didn't.

No cable -- but if I can twist the rabbit ears just right -- maybe I can pick up Channel 11 in Hamilton tonight. Go Steve, go.

Having Grits for breakfast is a tradition that really should spread north.

YeeHaw fanfan, thanks for the live thread.

Repost from another thread...

This could be big news...from La Presse
(translated by Angry in T.O.)...

Harper majoritaire ?

The last daily poll from EKOS shows such a spectacular showing for the Conservatives that the firm decided to wait this evening before revealing the results, in order to double the sample of 500 voters.

"Our data is so surprising that it would be irresponsible to reveal it on the eve of the debate", explained the president of EKOS, Frank Graves, to La Presse.

If the respondents repeat themselves today, one will be able to evoke the possibility of a majority Conservative government, he says.

"While waiting, the Conservatives have at least the wind in the sails. Something is occurring, it is certain. What remains to be specified, it is the exact size of this surge." According to the pollster, the Conservative wave strikes everywhere in Canada, including in Quebec, where it harms the Bloc Québécois especially.

Elsewhere, it is the Liberals who are bailing out. This weekend, a survey CPAC-SES Research revealed already that 23% of the Quebeckers would prefer to have Conservative leader Stephen Harper as Prime Minister, whereas only 13% of them thought the same thing before Christmas.

Liberal leader Paul Martin and Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe collect for their part 18% and 17% of support, which represents a tumble.

While it is admittedly a long time ago, I did live in Quebec for awhile in the early seventies. And Quebec used to be a pretty conservative province. Yeah, there was that ugliness over the draft -- I didn't say they were Anglo-Saxon, just that they were socially pretty conservative.

I'm not going to dispute what's gone on in Canada politically for the last quarter century, but maybe all that's required to return Canada to its roots is a good leader.

After all, many of us down here thought we were lost to the liberals until Ronald Reagan showed up and was able to re-establish common sense and respect for tradition.

I'm not expecting Harper to be another Reagan -- but if he can connect with the French, we might just find out that Canada's not as liberal as your media claim.
