Has Murtha ever signed a release for his MIL docs?

Don't know nor really care, Nut Cracker. Murtha made O-3 active and was transferred to Reserves where he attained the rank of Lt Colonel. Was and is a congressman representing his district....nothing notable....and became a shill for the Ultra Left. Kerryesque.
I have no skinny on his service or awards. No one has skinny on Lyndon Johnson's awards either.
Whatever he did in VN, whatever awards he got there were enough to sway a majority of voters in his district to elect him.

Marines call him Ex Marine.

Have any of the talk radio folks gotten ahold of this? This is just beyond the pale, if it's true. In the back of my mind, there's that little voice saying someone's playing a trick here.

A few months ago I said I believe that, in the future Murtha's office will report he's retiring - due to onset of Alzheimer's disease. I stand by that prediction.

The guy is absolutely disconnected with reality!

I just wonder if anyone in the last 50 years has read "A Man Without A Country" as required reading in a Jr. High School class. It's been a long time ago, but I remember reading of a man who declared he "hated his country", in a court of law. He was then sentenced to life on a ship, never landing on land, and never having a country to claim as his own. It was an enlightening experience, and the man suffered unbelievably as a result. I'm sure there can be a lot of flaws found in this story, but it does makes one think a little bit more about what their country means to them and what are true criticisms, and what are selfish whinings.

We read that same story in school many years ago. I can still recite the first few lines from memory (and they apply perfectly to "Congressman" Murtha): Breathes there a man with soul so dead. Who never to himself hath said, This is my own, my native land..."

REP. Murtha is a sad old man that probably drinks a bit to much and remembers when he was important.
The Jack Murtha of 40 years ago would be sickened by this cartoon character.

**Code Pink has given $650,000 to the terrorists in Fallujah, participated in war crimes tribunals against America and has called American soldiers "killers" on their website among many treasonous actions.**

I do not understand how Code Pink can legally give 650,000 dollars to the terrorists. Aren't there laws against this type of thing??? It makes no sense.

I wish I comprehended better the intelligence-treachery issues implied and somewhat explained here, but my opinion about Murtha has always been a dubious one.

Admittedly, I refrained from speaking out about Murtha out of respect for President Bush, and in avoidance of providing the Democrats any more fodder using him than they were so seeking (in fact, I think Murtha is being used and promoted by Democrats as a token "military" representative, when, in fact, he's anything but based upon his statements of late -- but it sure looks like he has a history of working to undermine, based upon my limited understanding of the articles linked here).

Murtha has always made an "Oliver Stone" impression upon me, like he's posing for purposes of undermining.

Now that he's being photographed with Code Pink, however, I am quite sure of my earlier impressions. People should be told more about Code Pink, who they are, what they intend and represent, and that Murtha is even giving them the time of day is a very bad statement for anyone with association to our Congress and defense.

I felt it important to point out the political nature of his "service." He travels under a fake Marine Corps Officer flag, and dishonors his service by so doing.

Please consider signing it. Hoping for a better year, Rela -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We have an exciting idea we'd like to share with you about mobilizing women around the globe to call for an end to the occupation and the violence in Iraq. With the majority of people in Iraq, the US, the UK and globally opposing this war, now is the time for women to step forward and make our opposition more visible and vocal. On January 5, we will launch the Women Say No To War Campaign, asking women around the world to sign on to the Women’s Call for Peace below. We hope to obtain a minimum of 100,000 signatures by International Women's Day on March 8, 2006, when US and Iraqi women will deliver these signatures to leaders in Washington DC and women around the world will deliver them to US embassies. We would be honored if you would agree to be an initial signer so that we can launch the call on New Years Day with 100 prominent women/women’s organizations. You will be joined by women such as Cindy Sheehan of Gold Star Families for Peace, Kavita Ramdas of Global Fund for Women and Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. By January 1 we will have a new website ( where people can sign on and get updates about the campaign. In the meantime, it would be wonderful if you could get back to me directly about your willingness to sign the Call and how you would like to be identified (if necessary, feel free to make your organizational affiliation be “for identification only”). Happy holidays, Jodie Evans, CODEPINK * those who have already signed are listed below Women’s Call for Peace: An Urgent Appeal We, the women of the United States, Iraq and women worldwide, have had enough of the senseless war in Iraq and the cruel attacks on civilians around the world. We’ve buried too many of our loved ones. We’ve seen too many lives crippled forever by physical and mental wounds. We’ve watched in horror as our precious resources are poured into war while our families’ basic needs of food, shelter, education and heathcare go unmet. We’ve had enough of living in constant fear of violence and seeing the growing cancer of hatred and intolerance seep into our homes and communities. This is not the world we want for ourselves or our children. With fire in our bellies and love in our hearts, we women are rising up—across borders—to unite and demand an end to the bloodshed and the destruction. We have seen how the foreign occupation of Iraq has fueled an armed movement against it, perpetuating an endless cycle of violence. We are convinced that it is time to shift from a military model to a conflict-resolution model that includes the following elements: * The withdrawal of all foreign troops and foreign fighters from Iraq; * Negotiations to reincorporate disenfranchised Iraqis into all aspects of Iraqi society; * The full representation of women in the peacemaking process and a commitment to women’s full equality in the post-war Iraq; * A commitment to discard plans for any foreign bases in Iraq; * Iraqi control of its oil and other resources; * The nullification of privatization and deregulation laws imposed under occupation, allowing Iraqis to shape the trajectory of the post-war economy; * A massive reconstruction effort that prioritizes Iraqi contractors, and draws upon financial resources of the countries responsible for the invasion and occupation of Iraq; * Consideration of a temporary international peacekeeping force thatis truly multilateral and is not composed of any troops from countries that participated in the occupation. To move this peace process forward, we are creating a massive movement of women—crossing generations, races, ethnicities, religions, borders and political persuasions. Together, we will pressure our governments, the United Nations, the Arab League, Nobel Peace Prize winners, religious leaders and others in the international community to step forward to help negotiate a political settlement. And in this era of divisive fundamentalisms, we call upon world leaders to join us in spreading the fundamental values of love for the human family and for our precious planet. The next meeting of the Arlington County Board is Sat. Jan. 21 with public comment at 8:30 am. They give you 2 minutes to speak to the all-Dim Board. I'll be there, along with other vets, to ask what they've done for troops returning to Arlington - expand dog-poop parks, build more speed bumps and day labor centers.

I'm the vet that challenged them when they touted the Pledge of Alligance as divisive.

Hope you can join us.

This pathetic man has been a "nobody" in the national media until he decided to announce that America should abondon Iraq, leave them to be slaughtered by terrorists, and send a message to terrorists that we don't have the stomach or temerity to fight them.

Fo reasons beyond my comprehension- the media thinks this makes him a brilliant "star."

Now the feeble coward is frantically going over the cliff to get any attention he possibly can... he is now a camera and news whore.....

what a legacy- LOL!

They are in their (DC) office now...A young gal named Tarah (sp?) answered the phone when I called. She seemed not to know anything about Code Pink, so I led her to their website, told her of their $650,000 donation to insurgents in Fallujah, their aborted trip to Cuba to celebrate the commie revolution there, their weekly blood dance at Walter Reed with signs taunting the wounded soldiers and their families, and their calling our veterans murderers.

I forgot to tell Tarah about their sneaking into events, including the 'Rat convention, and disrupting them. But what is important is that Murtha be called onto the carpet for joining hands with groups that openly aid our enemy. That I did very clearly.

And I added a final comment for my late dad, who was "Once a Marine, Always a Marine." He would be breathing fire, if he were around to see another Marine join up with the enemy, whether it was out of ignorance/stupidity or for political purposes.

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged."
