Leaky is disgusting. Do you believe...do you believe....

It doesn't matter what Alito believes it matters what the law says and what the court has said the Constitution says.

Balance of powers between Congress and the President, in general

That might be what he wants people to think

but he's up to something else

Biden went on and on about Title 7 yesterday but I could not fathom a word of his ramblings.

What happened to Ashcroft is a travesty that went unremarked upon by the MSM. Of course.

Even with Roberts there were rumblings about his Roman Catholicism.

There was an outcry about that bigotry and it seems to have subsided with regard to Alito.

Waiting for one of the lowlife libs to bring up some connection to the mafia.

Leaky is trying, in vain, to get Alito to condemn and declare it unlawful, that Pres Bush NSA program is illegal.

Alito has not been touched.

Frankly, the longer this goes on, the worse the dems look.

I agree totally. The only people they are appealing to at the moment is their base. The average American will see the Dems behavior in these proceedings as being disgusting. If all the average Joe hears, is even a sound-bite from the Dems questioning, it's even worse for them.

That makes sense

But what was his point on the questions regarding firing his cabinet?

And the left stayed on Ashcroft's religious beliefs the whole time he was in office.

Alito keeps telling him, but Leahy does not understand.

Leahy is transmitting but he is not receiving. :-)

He's been incoherent for decades. His age has nothing to do with it.

Just heard some left announcer on WABC radio commenting that the dems don't let Alito get a word in edgewise.

More like the dems don't understand a word of what Alito is saying.

I agree with you assessment....which should make the dems want to wrap this up SOON...so it can go to the Senate..

where they have expert bloviators..(speaking of Robert KKK Byrd)...

THEN, just let him get confirmed and move along..they aren't doing themselves any favors by drawing this out.

Oh...but then, they get to confront their "fearless" leader Harry Reid being smacked around by the Justice Dept...

I wonder if Chrissy Matthews will go after him...like he has Karl Rove??? LOL

Hatch up now. "Durbin misstated what Judge Roberts said in his hearings".

I love this rebuttal strategy the Pubbies have going. Working like a charm.

It's both. The NYT slammed the Dems for I I I

And Slate slammed Alito for being "boring" but when you read the article, it's really because Alito is so knowledgeable that he gives detailed and technical answers that the Dems do not understand

Byrd is old and feeble, but he knows exactly what he is doing...and saying.

but he's up to something else

The political motive is always present ;-)

11:52: Leahy says Alito has chastised congress in the past for delegating issues to administrative agencies. Alito denies that he's said that. Leahy asks about removal of admistrative officers and Alito says that the functional approach of Morrison applies-- Congress cannot intefere with the executive branch. Leahy then asks whether the president could fire an investigator. Alito says it depends on the facts. Next, Leahy asks wehther the president could force the attorney general to order wiretaps. Alito says not if these acts were unconstitutional.
