Hatch is throwing a wrench into the Dem plan of the day to paint Alito as being on the side of the big guys, and against the little guys, minorities, etc.
I heard it with my own ears.
Durbin kept bringing up Bruce Springsteen's "crushing hand of fate." Alito's answer really "bitch-slapped" Durbin with that answer!
Alito: (my paraphrase) "The president (and by extension all of us) is required to follow the Constitution all of the time and all laws to the extent that they are consistent with the Constitution."
Darn it! I watched most of it yesterday, but I missed that! Shoot, shoot, shoot!

I know you read about Biden's long-winded bloviating yesterday, much of it about how he didn't like Princeton, never did. I didn't want you to miss a video that proves once and for all what a bald faced liar Biden is. I posted about it earlier...maybe you can watch the video during lunch:

remember the long-winded Biden yesterday explaining how much he hated Princeton? OH how Biden hates Princeton.
Oh Yeah??????? Jon Poderetz got hold of a "Biden Speaking At Princeton" video which exposes what a HUGE lie Biden told yesterday at the hearing.
Some of it goes like this:
"it's an honor to be here..it would have been a greater honor to go here".
"I have 3 children, and I tried to get all three to apply here."

Yup, that was the first sentence of Alito's reply. It was a beautiful moment.
Another beautiful moment was when Durbin kept talking about how Alito always sided with the big guy against the little guy. As his first example of a case where he sided with the little guy, he used a case where a kid was bullied at school for presumed alternative sexual orientation -- Alito supported his parents in their appeal to be allowed to take him to another school district.
Talk about something chosen to be a perplexing "in your face" to the Democrats: school choice for gays!
Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Dick Durbin!
