"W. Cleon Skousen (1913–2006), prolific supporter of God, family and country, peacefully passed away at his Salt Lake City home on January 9, 2006, of causes incident to age, just 11 days shy of his ninety-third birthday. He was lovingly surrounded by his family and wife Jewel, with whom he was anticipating their 70th wedding anniversary in August.

Well known across the nation and overseas for his devoted understanding and support of the U.S. Constitution, his love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his insights into politics, religion, good government, and human nature, he leaves behind an exhaustive work of scholarship created over three-quarters of a century that covers dozens of specialties. Among the 46 books he authored are the best sellers, The Naked Communist, The Naked Capitalist, So You Want to Raise a Boy?, The Making of America, The Five Thousand Year Leap, and Fantastic Victory."

I met Cleon Skousen at a home school convention a few years ago. He was a wonderful speaker, and when he opened up the floor for a Q and A, I asked him why he was speaking at a home schooling convention. He replied that he simply wanted to "be with us" who were actively teaching our children principles of freedom. He felt that home schoolers were the best hope for the future.

I have read his book The Naked Communist numerous times and would highly recomend it as a fabulous expose and history book for anyone, including students who are not being taught the truth about America's fight with Communists.

Read the obituary, it is a wonderful tribute to a true hero and patriot!

The Naked Communist was valuable but the Naked Capitalist was a disaster. It tarred the anti Communist movement, en masse, with a tin foil label, gave birth to what would become McVeighism, and essentially split the Right into the warring factions we see here at FR. Of course it did not do all that alone, but certainly fueled the fire. Too bad, Skousen was talented. Too bad he drank the NWO-obsessive / whacko-beyond-even-the-JBS kool aid and made himself a laughingstock.

Have to agree with that, the JBS did a disservice to the Conservative movement for years. His problem was that he was a Hooverite.

So when Presidente Jorge II tells us that the "temporary guest workers" are here doing the work that Americans don't want to do (for a fraction of what they used to get), I am wearing a tin foil hat for believing him? I see with my own eyes temporary guest workers (at slave wages under the table) doing work for construction foreman (white overseers) who get paid as subcontractors by white general contractors. I pay my taxes, but the temporary guest worker program is not.

There is a growing shadow economy manned by the temporary guest workers that is killing the middle class blue collar worker. Skousen opened my eyes to the existence of the financial feudal lords who are the driving force behind this policy. They fear the left wing Marxists for good reason. And they fear the independent middle class, so they remain silent to go unnoticed. They are slowly driving the small entrepreneurs out of good paying jobs. Walmart loaded with cheap goods from overseas and staffed with temporary guest workers is killing opportunities for family businesses.

The only rational answer for supporting illegal immigration is cheap labor desired by the New World Order. Donald Rumsfeld and John Edwards both attended a recent Builderberger meeting (to discuss New World Order Agreements in the way organized crime divides up territory). Both could give a rats ass about the middle class.

The Naked Communist

My dad had this book when I was a kid and I remember how frightening the dust jacket was. When I got the nerve up, I read it and remembered.

His best (and most useful) book is "So You Want to Raise a Boy." I found it at a yard sale 20 years ago and it is dead-on right about its topic. Skousen writes a humorous examination of each year of a boy's development from birth to age 21. I've got three sons (and two daughters) and that book has been invaluable to me. Best book on parenting boys I ever read. Too bad he didn't write one about raising daughters. I guess even the wisest among us can't figure them out!

The "Naked Capitalist" is an excellant anti-communist read, in the body of a critique of socialist Dr. Carroll Quigley's book, "Tragedy and Hope". I might add, at this point, that none other than Bill Clinton, who many believe to be the first godless president of the U.S., was quoted as saying, "Dr. Quigley was right", meaning, in my opinion, that eventually socialism would rule the world, and nothing can be done to stop it. In that quote, Clinton sounded a lot more like Khrushchev than a U.S. citizen.

Much of what Skousen wrote in "The Naked Capitalist" has been proven to be correct, especially in the last few decades, with the explosion of knowledge on the internet, studies, freedom of information requests, Venona Files releases, KGB file releases ,etc., etc. The "split" in the Right, that you refer to, in my opinion, is a split that has been around from the beginning of time, in all political parties, in all nations.............it is the split between those who believe that the God who created us knows best and those who believe that they are smarter that God. Quigley's book was favorable to those who believe that they are smarter than God, in other words, socialism.

Religious dictatorships, socialist democracies, secular dictatorships, etc., believe that they know better than God, and seek to force everyone to march to their tunes. In America, however, we still have a God inspired constitution, and a representative form of government, where the people have a strong voice in what kind of government (local, state and federal) that we will have.

There are forces - quazi-religious, military, monetary, political, educational, etc., that would love to see our God inspired form of government fall to the wayside...............Skousen pointed this out in "The Naked Communist", in "The Naked Capitalist", and, also, in other worthwhile work(s) of his.

Skousen, was, without a doubt, a patriot, a leader, and a force for good in America and beyond. Were it that we all could reach such a level of dedication and be as prolific in our own work(s)

If anything, Skousen's work and works have been a strength to the Right in the long, hard struggle with the socialist Left, in all of it's ugly, disgusting forms.

Think about this.........The only thing keeping the world from total, brutal dictatorship is America............The only thing keeping America from going socialist is a large group of americans, with memberships in different political parties, who believe that the God who created us knows best, and that if we continue to model our form of government after his laws, we will be successful.

America is the greatest, richest, strongest, most giving country ever in the history of this earth. 95% of us believe there is a God, and the greatest majority of the 95%, myself included, believe there is a Christ. All of this greatness didn't happen by chance..........blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

W. Cleon Skousen.....rest in peace......your deserve it.

Ran across this (see URL below) today, for anyone interested in Skousen's work , and a little more background on his life.........also, be mindful that the big liberal media, in many various forms, has attacked John Birchers, Ronald Reagan, anti-communists, George Bush, conservatives, religious folks, pro-lifers, 2nd ammendment defenders, etc., etc., for decades, with no end in sight.

The beautiful part of this now is.............people are able to get more than just one side of the story(s), if they have the energy and the desire to do so..........from the radio, the internet, books, magazines, TV and such. The liberal left no longer has near-absolute control of what you see, hear and read..........thanks to pioneers like W. Cleon Skousen.
