>>>I don't think it is on the President's agenda either, or instead of 160,000 troops in Iraq, we would have 460,000.<<<

Which is the obvious best argument that we will not fight Iran with a conventional war....ie: tanks, planes and infantry.

Any war with Iran, whether by us or Israel, will be "non-conventional", a decapitation strike of immense proportions.

That is certainly an option. Watch for deployment of carrier battle goups to the area for a tip off.

My gravest concern is that the Iranian nuclear sites are so hardened that no conventional weapons would take them out completely. I don't see us ever using nukes for a preemptive strike , which would leave conventional ground forces to eliminate the sites.

I would expect Iran to retaliate against our troops in Iraq in any case. We would have to have more troops on the ground in Iraq even if we go after Iran with an unconventional strike.

We, and the Israelis, do have options. But, I will stick by my original point...the mood in the nation after four years of smearing Bush over Iraq will not let us do a thing. Politically, it won't happen. We can thank the idiots in the MSM and the Dim party for that.

Look for a year of trying to get sanctions in the UN, by then, Iran will have the nukes and will dare us to hit them.
