Clooney: I ruined Kerry's presidential race
Ireland Online ^ | 1/14/06 | Ireland Online

George Clooney is convinced he ruined John Kerry's chances in the race for US president in 2004 - by snubbing an invitation and hurting his feelings.

The Ocean's Twelve actor was one of several screen stars invited to ride on Kerry's election train, but it all went downhill for the Democrat when Clooney stayed away.

He recalls: "Kerry asked me to ride on his train - he had a train going cross-country after he was nominated and some actors went on board. I called him and explained that I couldn't do it. I'd hurt him. I'd actually caused him harm at the polls."

Sure George, whatever. I suspect it had more to do with him knowing if he showed up on sKerry's train, his Dad the conservative Democrat from KY(?), had no chance in his State Assy run. Of course he lost anyway.

The term "self-important" comes to mind.

The term "narcissistic self-absorbed ***wipe" comes to mind.

Forget Clooney.

With Rula Lenska nowhere in sight, Kerry was doomed.

It was just back in October when Clooney pledged to stay mum on politics because it hurt his candidates.

Yeah, really. Explain that one, George! I remember your
"promise" (more like a threat, in my book) that if your father was elected, you'd be hanging out in the district. If you're so important, I'm thinking that election was a referendum on YOU! "We don't want that no-talent assclown hanging around!"

And if I don't show up at the Oscars this year, Georgie won't get one.

I think that George overestimates his own importance.

Heston Fires Back at Clooney
James Hirsen
Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003
THE LEFT COAST REPORT
A Political Look at Hollywood
George Clooney has just drawn the ire of Moses.

Apparently, the actor is not content to merely sit around and hurl tired, hackneyed anti-war phrases at the president, like he did while on the Charlie Rose show.

No, Clooney also seems to have the need to kick around an American icon when he’s down.

According to the New York Post’s Liz Smith, while accepting an award from the National Board of Review, Clooney wisecracked, “Charlton Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer's.”

When asked about the statement, Clooney told Smith, “I don't care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association. He deserves whatever anyone says about him.”

Heston wasn’t about to let the indignity go unchallenged. According to the World Entertainment News Network, Heston walloped Clooney by contrasting the actor’s demeanor with that of his late aunt, the singing legend Rosemary Clooney.

“It just goes to show that sometimes class does skip a generation,” Heston shot back.

It’s ironic that Clooney, who liberally spouts compassion, tolerance and sensitivity, would use a man’s illness as material for a joke.

The Left Coast Report believes if the guy keeps talking, he’ll end up where he belongs – right next to Alec Baldwin on "Hollywood Squares."
