Two teenagers caught on video beating a homeless man were identified late Saturday as they prepared to turn themselves in to police. Thomas Daugherty, 17, and Brian Hooks, 18, both of Plantation, are also suspected in the bludgeoning of two other homeless men in a three-hour spree in Fort Lauderdale last Thursday, said Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Detective Katherine Collins. One of the victims died. Police said they got more than 100 tips on the case from people who saw the video. Collins said Saturday night that the teens' attorneys were arranging their return to the area and their surrender to face charges of murder and aggravated battery.

Good! What cowardly thugs--three creeps with baseball bats attacking one sleeping homeless man at a time. Throw the book at the morons.

Burial is cheap, my wish is to turn them out to their victims peers which will not happen. The long (legal required) death sentence waltz willl commence. I don't see these dudes lasting too long in prison in their present mindset as bats are not standard issue. To paraphrase F Gump : Stupids does as stupids follow.

Those that beat the homeless man to death should be executed by the same method.

That would be justice.

A large majority of the homeless are mentally ill, alcoholics and drug addicts. Often in combination. Sad and pathetic; they don't deserve to be beaten to death.

The murderers in this case might very well be meth users. This drug often makes people very violent, along with loss of any normal sense.

Looks like first degree murder, tried as adults. And the death penalty.

"I don't believe these guys will last long in the general population."

This is Florida, not Massachusetts. They'll be on death row, convicted of premeditated murder after lying in wait. There are two surviving witnesses and the accomplices in the van will testify against them for reduced sentence. Since they're the wrong color, Sarandon and Robbins won't be coming.

Meth is really bad. An ex of mine was a bouncer and got stabbed by a meth-head who was tweaking and had been up for over 5 days straight.

When I was a youngster we used to steal several hundred golf balls from a nearby driving range (naughty, naughty). We took them back eventually. However we did not bludgeon people to death.

After Texas, Florida is the worst place to murder. Ol' Sparky will be happy to meet this scum. Meth is not an excuse for murder; drinking too much beer maybe, but not murder.

"Two teenagers caught on video beating a homeless man"

"Police said they got more than 100 tips on the case from people who saw the video."

"Two teens were caught on a surveillance camera attacking Jacques Pierre"

Anybody want to object to their privacy being invaded by surveillance cameras? Not me.
