I'll just throw out that he said tonight, on 60 minutes, he quit college to volunteer for 'Nam and he made exemplary mention of how his mother cried....

>>>> John O'Neil is a lawyer in Houston.

Then how can we go about issuing citizen complaints for these crimes?

Is John O'Neil pingable? Can we file charges? How? Then what happens next?

I've written Muthra, he returned the letters and emails I sent, ignored because I'm not one of his constituents, in his eyes even being a fellow Marine doesn't count.

"Concurrently, his Purple Hearts coming into focus seems like simple copy cat political attacks left over from sKerry."

Conversely, it seems to me anyone who didn't question a posturing Democrat with Purple Hearts would be slack, given the crap with sKerry.

I think the right is giving the MSM too much credit.

at least, as much as this site abhors and detracts from the MSM, we certainly seem to give them respect in this case....

Without documentary evidence or further corroboration to cast doubt on Murtha's situation, it doesn't appear there is anything further to pursue in this matter at the present time.

The documentary evidence and corroboration aren't going to just fall out of the sky, like manna from heaven, they will have to be sought. And they should be, without making any further public accusations, but relentlessly pursued they should be.

Every time he opens his mouth lately, he proves it. The Purple Hearts? They don't matter at this point.

If you watched 60 minutes tonight, you know why they do matter.

I live 30 miles from his district (Somerset...remember 9/11 and flight #93 ??) and his office will not accept anything unless from his area..I have been calling his Washington office and telling them I am from his area and then they will listen to you...but does no good I'm sure.

Many here, 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub, Aloha Ronnie, RVNAirplaneDriver, and many others, *are* his service comrades. Many others have worn the uniform, and hate to see it used to collect political brownie points from Code Pink and the Dancing Dims.

Mike Wallace, SeeBS and 60 minutes care, and lots of people still watch them. And neither you nor I know how many of them still believe every scrap of fake but accurate BS they put out.

IF (and that remains to be proven) Murtha has lied about his service (and that service is what helped get him elected..where he continues to undermine the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan)..then it needs to be explored.

Showing the entire Nation that one of the most vocal critics of the present policy in Irag....has lied about something as simple as the receiving of Purple Hearts ...would help our effort there.

...and help to drive the stake into the heart of the Democrats/Liberals that still exist.

...and I am a Vietnam Vet who also has two Purple Hearts. 1st one sent me to a 'local' hospital to recover. The 2nd sent me stateside to Walter Reed for surgery and recovery.

You will find that most honest Vietnam Vets do NOT use their Purple Hearts (or any other medals for that matter) to further their careers.

You WILL find the liars do.

And here's how the left is using his supposed "Hero" status. Notice especially how they call him "much-decorated from Korea and Vietnam". (He served during but not in Korea). (From CBS 60 minutes Jan. 15, 2006)

(CBS) The vast majority of American troops will be out of Iraq by the end of this year. Who says so? Congressman John Murtha says so, and he explains his plan to make that happen to correspondent Mike Wallace.

The 73-year-old Democrat from Pennsylvania is a much-decorated war hero from Vietnam and Korea; a heavyweight in military matters in the Congress who stunned the Bush White House last November by calling for the withdrawal of all American troops from Iraq.

I was watching this in a restaurant tonight. I asked my wife if I could barf now. She said "no", so I had to turn around and stop watching the show.

Which is why what we do here is so important, Asking the right questions of those that are above questioning is our mission.

Not to intrude upon a decent diatribe. Do you believe that Murtha should answer for his statements, even if he is decorated? And if you know anyone that served with him, should they speak up about their service with him?

I am of the impression that you and others are covering for a traitor, based upon his service. If that is the case, I am OK with that.

One little point from tonight's SeeBS interview.

"One of the problems they have with enlistment is because they continually say how well things are going and the troops on the ground know better," Murtha adds

I hate to tell old Bourbon Breath, but re-enlistment is so high that even with the earlier problems with first time enlistments (the goals for which have been met more recently) that the overlevel of the Army has been maintained.

So the troops that are on the ground, and know the truth, are re-enlisting in larger than expected numbers. Meanwhile, due to Mr. Unwinable War and his Komrades at Code Pink, first time enlistments have suffered. After all, who wants to go fight in a war that's supposedly "already lost", and isn't important to the US anyway.

His other theme is that the "insurgents" are not terrorists, that there are few if any terrorists in Iraq, and those few all came after we went in. Of course that's not what we are hearing from people on the ground, but heck what do they know?

I have to give CBS a little credit, they do report that they did not find any troops that agreed with Murtha, and that most thought the mission both worthwhile and going well. But of course Murtha had the answer to that to. He didn't say "they are too dumb to know any better", but what he said was pretty much equivalent. Go read the story for yourself, if you have a strong stomach.

But to give you another taste, he said

"But you just can’t sit back and allow this war to continue on without a clear exit strategy. That’s the reason I’m so strong about this. I feel a mission here, with my experience, that, that I have to help the president find a way out of this thing."

Try winning as an exit strategy. It works every time.

WTF? He was born June 17, 1932. In his 1967 deployment to Nam we would have been 35. That's old to be a college student

From his Wikipedia entry, he joined the Marine Reserves in 1952 "during the Korean War". No mention of any actual deployment overseas

He did his high school at the Kiki School, an all-boy boarding prep school (indicating his family had money)

Murtha left Washington and Jefferson college in 1952 to join the Marines. After his active-duty stint, he ran a car wash, got his degree in economics from U Pittsburg.

I'd like to know more about him

Ok, maybe I'm starting to see the set up here.

We have been seeing on these threads:

- don't go after Murtha
- Murtha is a setup
- Murtha is senile.
- FR shouldn't go after Murtha
- Republicans shouldn't go after Murtha
- No one BUT the Vets should go after Murtha

Now, we are seeing Murtha acting like he is senile.

He is publicly misspeaking about points on his record that he should not have wrong.

Was Murtha used? Do some final transaction take place (the Code Pink thing) and then they were going to retire him?

Was he suppose to bring down the credibility of the Swift Vets with him???

(hence, only the Swift Vets should attack)

Good. I am interested in what you do believe. My father did serve in Korea, and Viet Nam. I do remember what Kerry and Fonda did. I did study ABSCAM, and Murtha was implicated. Are you stating that John Murtha is above and beyond reproach by virtue of his service and commendations? If you are, I do understand. My opinion is that John Murtha is a lowly form of human defecation worthy of ridicule, scorn, and derision. Even if he WAS a United States Marine.
