Why collective slavery is OK to liberals (very good)
Orange County Register ^ | January 16, 2006 | Tibor R. Machan

Posted on 01/16/2006 8:46:04 AM PST by Angel

Almost all modern liberals would declare themselves foes of slavery. They would insist that they are enemies, as well, of discrimination against any group whereby the rights of members of that group are systematically violated. In this respect modern liberals line up with classical liberals and most American conservatives in their support of individual liberty and rights.

Where modern liberals falter is in their refusal to recognize that individual liberties and rights are virtually meaningless if one does not have the right to property, to freely obtain, hold, and trade goods and services. So what if another person may not own me; what good is it if my assets and earnings may be taken from me without my permission?

snip . . .

Yet in contemporary academic moral, political, and legal circles there is a very influential movement arguing exactly this: One's assets and one's earnings belong to society, not to oneself. snip . . .

The reason is that while these "democratic liberals" oppose individual slavery - an individual master owning slaves - they see nothing wrong with collective slavery. snip . . .

The idea that property should be collectively owned is, in fact, the main step toward endorsing slavery. That's really quite elementary.

The only reason liberals hate individual slavery as opposed to colletive slavery is because they hate competition.

Yes, I tend to call these liberal SOCIALISTS. And as with all socialists, they exist only for themselves, and the individual is there to serve them (ergo slaves) with their work and wealth.

How is Hitlery these days?

as long as everyone is collectively and equally miserable, and the misery flows from the pen of power of a dimocrapic Congress, then it's OK

Liberals love indeed the irresponsability of the system owning us. It gives them "good jobs" where they can individualy wage their irresponsible racism at will, all in PC fashion.

It's true. Liberal loons are liars...saying one thing when in fact most times it's opposite. If they were to get their way...the young loons of today would be slaves tomorrow. Oh...how they wished they'd listened to that group of right wing conservatives, the real freedom fighters.

20 So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh, for every Egyptian sold his field, because the famine was severe upon them. Thus the land became Pharaoh’s.

21 As for the people, he removed them to the cities from one end of Egypt’s border to the other.

22 Only the land of the priests he did not buy, for the priests had an allotment from Pharaoh, and they lived off the allotment which Pharaoh gave them. Therefore, they did not sell their land.

23 Then Joseph said to the people, “Behold, I have today bought you and your land for Pharaoh; now, here is seed for you, and you may sow the land.

24 At the harvest you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four-fifths shall be your own for seed of the field and for your food and for those of your households and as food for your little ones.”

25 So they said, “You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s slaves.”

New American Standard Bible : 1995 update. 1995 (Ge 47:20). LaHabra, CA: The Lockman Foundation. _____________________________________________________

Folks, when Joseph "bought" the land of Egypt for the Pharoah, he exacted a tax of 20% from the enslaved Egyptians. I don't know about you, but I would be thrilled with a 20% flat tax!! How times have changed.

Illegal aliens are slaves without responsible ownership.

Welfare recipients of any sort are indentured constituents.

The Democrats are the Slave Party, always were, and will always be.

"How is Hitlery these days?"

I'm sure Hitlery is doing just fine. Remember how she said something along the lines of "We're going to take from you for the common good" to a group of ultra libbies in San Fran (I think during the 2004 campaign)?

As people become more and more property-rights oriented (thanks Kelo), her words will seem very, very out of place to most Americans.

Someone needs to get footage of her saying that and put it into a nice 15-second commercial. Play it during golf matches and tennis where they show all those financial planning and insurance commercials for the "rich" people. Make sure the investor class knows what Hitlery has in mind for their wealth. That's most of us these days.

As Nietsche said, more than a century ago, "Modern man is everywhere being prepared to live lives of slavery in the most exacting sense."

"Progressives" seem to find comfort in hastening this.
