Why is it called "Borking" and not the practice of Bidenism? Which one of Joseph McCarthy's "victims" suffered from McCarthyism?
The Democrats got away with partisan witchhunting because the practice was named for the martyr and not the despot. And for the record McCarthyism was and is overrated.

It says a lot about the Democrats' idiocy that a 25 year old sorority membership is of burning concern to them - along of course with abortion.

Well, he should get to enjoy the feeling; after all, subbing Alito for O'Connor and considering Kennedy as a moderate (a stretch, I know), then the certifiable originalists enjoy an average age advantage of nearly 15 years vs. the lefties. I.e., the Dims are screwed - Stevens is close to packing his bags and I understand that Ginsburg is not a well woman. Thus more originalists.

What I would love to see is president Bush nominating Janice Rogers Brown to replace one of the four remaining activist justice - Brown for Ginsberg - now that would be a hoot.

....who worked relentlessly to use Judiciary Committee hearings to set the stage for the Democrats to filibuster any constitutionalist appellate court nominee who appeared to be a potential Supreme Court nominee.Their strategy was transparent. They would attack nominees personally and scurrilously to create a climate of intimidation, hoping either to frighten highly qualified constitutionalists away from accepting a Supreme Court nomination or deter President Bush from naming such a person. They also hoped the filibuster of Bushs judicial nominees would energize their left-wing political base during the 2002 and 2004 elections cycles.
No, their strategy was not "transparent" - - it was DOCUMENTED.
