This ACLU action is a counter-offensive to the ongoing criminal investigation into the news leaks. The NYT is calling for help from the liberal sidelines. Notice that this coincides with fresh rantings from our former vice-rapist Al Gore and even that ingrate Arlan Sphincter(Can he be removed from his chairmanship?)
Yeah, I heard something about that...that's a great start and we should push it hard. But I'm convinced the the ACLU is dirty and has some problems in fundraising, ethics, taxes, etc., and should maybe have to suffer a little in court...expose themselves more...more suits..more exposure etc.
I have but one question for the ACLU. How are you going to "protect" my rights if I'm dead because of a terrorist attack.
Enough said.
American Communist Lunatic Union
With the Oregon legal death suit by the SC today 6-3 even with Alito on the Court the vote will still be 5-4
""President Bush may believe he can authorize spying on Americans without judicial or Congressional approval, but this program is illegal and we intend to put a stop to it," said ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero. "The current surveillance of Americans is a chilling assertion of presidential power that has not been seen since the days of Richard Nixon."

In 1994, President Clinton Expanded The Use Of Warrantless Searches To Entirely Domestic Situations With No Foreign Intelligence Value Whatsoever. In A Radio Address Promoting A Crime- Fighting Bill, Mr. Clinton Discussed A New Policy To Conduct Warrantless Searches In Highly Violent Public Housing Projects." (Charles Hurt, "'Warrantless' Searches Not Unprecedented," The Washington Times, 12/22/05) "One Of The Most Famous Examples Of Warrantless Searches In Recent Years Was The Investigation Of CIA Official Aldrich H. Ames, Who Ultimately Pleaded Guilty To Spying For The Former Soviet Union. That Case Was Largely Built Upon Secret Searches Of Ames' Home And Office In 1993, Conducted Without Federal Warrants." President Bill Clinton: "(T)he Attorney General Is Authorized To Approve Physical Searches, Without A Court Order, To Acquire Foreign Intelligence Information For Periods Of Up To One Year ..." (President Bill Clinton, Executive Order 12949, "Foreign Intelligence Physical Searches," 2/9/95)
Meanwhile, Polling Shows Americans Support President Bush's Decision On Wire Tapping: "(A Rasmussen Reports Survey Found) Sixty-Four Percent (64 percent) Of Americans Believe The National Security Agency (NSA) Should Be Allowed To Intercept Telephone Conversations Between Terrorism Suspects In Other Countries And People Living In The United States
Just 23 percent Disagree." (Rasmussen Reports' Web site, http://www.rasmussenreports.com, Accessed 1/6/06)
"The ACLU is the spawn of Satan."
We can't just walk in and trash their offices. The rule of law is the rule of law, and it applies to everyone. Instead, confirm Judge Alito.
Its not American, its not Civil, its not Liberating, but they might be an unholy union.
Yeah, I think this lawsuit is basically just a publicity stunt these groups are using to get more donations. Unless I'm missing something, they have no chance whatsoever of winning this lawsuit.
Exactly right. It's junk justice to keep the issue alive in the press so Chris Matthews and George Clooney have something to bitch about.
They say the president is not above the law, but I'm pretty sure that the ACLU feels it is!
Also, as far as I know, statements by liberal groups that this NSA program is illegal are totally false and amount to nothing more than a cheap poltical propaganda campaign to smear the Bush Administration. I'm afraid we've reached the stage where liberal groups and many democrat politicians have essentially no concern about honesty and factual accuracy. Their political strategy has become identical to the crude, raw strategy of the Clinton/Gore administration, which is simply to do anything to win and get what they want, using tactics that are not grounded in any principles or morality. We have to really start fighting to preserve a viable, relatively honest political process in the US.
For chirst sake is there no one and nothing those monkey sucking liberals won't sue?!
Is more like group think.. where they keep reinforcing each other's fantasies.. so that they cannot even tell what the truth is anymore.
Find the leaders of this organization and introduce small pieces of lead/copper alloy into their brains. Problem solved.
I agree.. this is awesome.. it should be bucked right up to the Supreme Court for immediate disposition.. and that would grab some interesting headlines.
There's definitely some of that happening too.
I use this whenever possible because so many people don't know what the term refers to Fifth Column
I have heard many times before the ACLU takes Federal Funding. Does anyone know if this is a fact? IF it is true, we are truly a nation of idiots, allowing the Federal Government to finance its own destruction. Please someone tell me this is an urban legend.
Jay says they don't get federal funding (well not directly at least). I'm not so convinced though...Every left wing group out ther has found a way to subsidize their cause. Dirty crooks.

I heard (I think on the Factory) that the ACLU get $75M to re-train seniors for job placements and their ratio is about 20%. To me, that speaks volumes about the ACLU!
How about the rest of us file a class action lawsuit against the ACLU and their clients in this case for endangering us in the war on terrorism?
We have just as much evidence they have collaborated with the enemy as they have evidence they've been spied on.
If they can use discovery to find out IF they've been spied on, we can use discovery to find out IF they've collaborated with the enemy.
