Man, 59, Gets Eight Years For Molesting Boys

(CBS) TORRANCE, Calif. A 59-year-old Hermosa Beach man who molested boys for more than two decades was sentenced Tuesday to eight years in state prison.

Charles P. Weinberg, who was sentenced by Torrance Superior Court Judge William Hollingsworth, pleaded guilty last month to three felony charges and a misdemeanor count involving four victims.

He was arrested last April, after Hermosa Beach police received information about molestations that began in the early 1980s, according to Sgt. Paul Wolcott.

Weinberg pleaded guilty on Dec. 21 to felony charges of oral copulation, continuous sexual abuse of a child and lewd conduct against a minor, and a misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a child.

Some of the victims were from broken homes or had indifferent parents, Wolcott said earlier. Weinberg gave money to some of the parents of his victims to try to help them with their living expenses, the sergeant said.

Some of the parents Weinberg helped allowed their children to spend the night at his Manhattan Avenue apartment or at a hotel, Wolcott said.

Should have done it in Vermont. There child molestation is the equivalent of shoplifting, provided one doesn't steal anything expensive.

...and a misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a child

If only I could have brought charges against some of the adults in my neighborhood for annoying me...

i think in some cases people can be turned around. but child molesters, rapists...no way. it is a flaw in their make-up that causes it, not a lack of morals.

Yes indeed. This needs the Judge Cashman "treatment": a few days in jail for years of serial child rape. Here is a photo of the pervert Judge Cashman himself.

About ten years ago someone did a study that came up with the fact to that average life expectancy of a child modester in prison was from 2 to 3 years.

Sorry Charlie you ain't going to make if that study was correct.

Judges are awfully sympathic to boy molestors these days. We need minimum sentencing guidlines for this crime. But this is evidence that the humanists really don't see anything wrong with adults having "consentual" sex with other people's children. They want it legalized and as with homosexual sex, they will get it. Then parents are going to have to pop some caps to protect their kids for the local town molestors.
