"...They all know that he has a mind like a steel trap. Ergo, no one ever challenges his logic..."

keep in mind that the brain of a liberal is about the size of a walnut

Ahhhhhhm, I know, deah Cobrahhhhhh. I do hope I didn't offend you. 'tis English that Buckley speaks and he does it quite well. His thinking is profound. What I meant was he comes across as rahthah snobbish because of the difference between his intellect and that of the average politician, coupled with his slightly Shakespearian manner of speaking. One of my aunts spoke with that same East Coast uppercrust, somewhat nasal drawls and many times it would almost sound as if she were speaking a different language.

My wife is from MN. And I have an "ear" for accents. I find nothing different from Buckley's accent than from Lindsey Graham's Southern accent. And yes, I lived in CO most of my life, and currently live in Western, NC. But then...I'm from the Midwest and some people would probably find MY accent annoying. :o)

I have never noticed Charles stuttering.

I am a stutterer myself, so I notice it. Charles controls it very well.

He also is a paraplegic, by the way. He has had to overcome a lot.

I've seeen Krauthammer at the Fox round table swat down liberals like a bunch of flies.

They come out with all their shallow attitudes and he just takes them apart. Krauthammer, Levin, and Newt would be the conservative debating team from heaven.

Could you see them taking on Kerry, Hillary, and Biden? Maybe Hillary could get a few plantation remarks in, and Kerry could talk about rescuing his daughter's hamster.

I, I, I, must . . . opine . . . that for the precision of language . . . . that, that, no commentator . . . possesses . . . the . . . clear wit and intelligence of . . . . Will, Will, William F. . . . Buckely.

Annoying as hell, but almost always at least appears to be correct about anything he speaks. Easier to read than to listen to.

As far as intimidation goes, no one can match the combination of beauty, brains and wit of Anne Coulter. However, her acerbic style is not as effective in verbal give and take. She is a great speaker and writer though.

For going one on one with a lib, I'll take (in no particular order and attempting to limit to former or current opinion makers):

Michael Reagan
New Gingrich
Lynn Cheney
Michael Medved
Laura Ingraham (oh would I take her)
Pat Buchanan (didn't see his name mentioned before)

That's a decent but incomplete list of my favorites who debate well.

As for the king of conservative thought and the heart and soul of modern conservative rationale, RUSH LIMBAUGH, he is of course awesome. But somewhat like Ann Coulter he can sometimes get too involved in being witty that he does not debate particularly well unless he has control of a caller.

Ann Coulter. She gets it.

You know the rules. Give.

I like Danish De'Souza.

I once had an opportunity to chat online in a chat room with "Danish." I had a chance to ask one question and I totally screwed it up. It came out gibberish. I was really disappointed because I have great respect for him.

I thought he had a physical problem, but I did not want that discussion to interfere with my opinion of Charles as a very smart man. Charles is a good man whom loves his country. I'd bet he was an honest lawyer.

Pat Buchanan is a good debater, but he looks constipated (bad in the likeability factor), and sometimes he's brilliant, sometimes nutty. Pat's like a box of chocolates...you know the rest.

"I have something for you."

Gee, that looks like fun! What else do you do for entertainment?

Wouldn't it be more sensible to suggest the name of an outstanding debater or ignore the whole thing?

Guess some don't see it that way. To each his own.

Why is Coulter in a Navy Wave outfit in your picture? I realize she (rightly so) defends Joe McCarthy, but what does the Navy outfit have to do with it?

I don't always agree with Newt, but he has facts on the tip of his tongue and he is articulate. I miss him as Speaker.

True thoughts about Buchanan. I just like he goes through liberals like a chainsaw.
