You apparently didn't see her face-off with Bob Beckel last night on "Your World with Neil Cavuto" AFTER I had already made my post. I think Bob Beckel is despicable but she certainly did not "best" him in the debate. He put her on the defensive right off.
I know that she's a lot smarter than she comes off but sometimes, like Pat Robertson, she speaks before she thinks and causes embarrassment for our cause. She needs to concentrate more on making her remarks "substantive" instead of trying to be cute and funny.
Me: Here are the facts about why we went to war in Iraq. . .
Liberal: Bush lied, people died!
Me: Are you saying that Bill Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry, who all said that Saddam had WMD and was a serious threat were lying?
Liberal: Bush lied, people died!
Me: Perhaps you forgot, but Saddam has used WMD twice that we know of.
Liberal: Bush lied, people died!
Liberals can't debate. They operate solely on emotion and don't allow the facts to get in the way.
Buckley, Limbaugh, Coulter, Steyn, Williams, Limbaugh (David), Reagan, Will (when he can stay on the reservation)
I second Buckley.
He's a good one, almost forgot about him.
Alan Keyes and Michael Medved are the two most notable in my mind at present.
Rush is not a debator, he's a commentator..
Michael Medved and Alan Keyes are debators... Rush is not a good debator in the least. Ann Coulter is a pundit, not a debator... as is Hannity, not a debator, just a pundent.
Wasn't Peggy Noonan Pres. Regan's speach writer?
(In my best Mark Levin accent)
Amen, Brother
There are a couple with the gift on radio talkshows. Seems to be a shortage of skilled debaters on either side in Congress.
Waiting in the wings is Justice Roberts, we hope.
Media types I'd go with Marc Levin. He asks no quarter and he sure the hell gives none.
Oh, what the heck. I'm not communicating very well and just digging myself in deeper. I feel ignorant and beat up today. waaahhh :o)
I finally searched "what is a ZOT" instead of "ZOT" and was able to zero in on the history and definition of the ZOT. Pretty funny stuff. Thanks for your reply.
Since you said all-time I would have to say Alexander Hamilton. Contemporarily, without a doubt Roanld Reagan he killed RFK in a debate once.
Sonny M,I didn't mean for you to zip it:)I wish Bork had.
"And so, good-bye, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America."
I pray that America has not seen its last shining moment.
Michael Medved is the best all-around debater of macro/"big picture" politics and current events. He can demolish opponebts, and they don't even realize it. Dennis Prager is the best for philosophical/religious/non-specific issue debates.
Alan Keyes, too.
