So, Redford is in a remake of Charlotte's Web, and that's OK. It was also OK for Redford, in the early '70s, to be in talks to star in a remake of "Double Indemnity," the 1944 classic that made Fred MacMurray a star. Of course, it was also OK for him to star in the Great Gatsby, which was made twice before he got his turn. But, remakes are bad. Yes, Robert. You're right.
I also love how he points out that he really had to hold his nose to accept the Kennedy Center Honors bestowed by President Bush. Funny how Bush is always gracious to his political enemies, but they can never return the favor -- even a little. But, that's become par for the course. Bush should give Tom Selleck, Mel Gibson and Gary Sinese Kennedy Center Honors before he leaves office. Surely, they'd show more respect.

Not just Bush, conservatives in general. Convervatives are polite to the opposition and get slammed for their efforts.

Funny how Bush is always gracious to his political enemies, but they can never return the favor -- even a little. Bush did that for most of 2005 and they belittled him down to a 39% approval rating.

I dunno. I'd say King Kong was worth it. So was Lord of the Rings (Ok, it was an extended remake of an animated feature, but still).

Asked about rumors that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck may be remaking "Butch Cassidy," Redford said he finds that "depressing." I have to agree with him. Butch and Sundance were best played by Redford and Newman. And then let it rest...

Whatdaya mean? Redford claims he's never had any cosmetic surgery. Just like Nacy Pelosi.

So does remaking the Butch Cassidy movie mean we'll have to listen to Brittany Spears singing Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head ad infinitum?

The eighties TV remake of Casablanca with David Soul as Rick proved that point once and for all.

"but they can never return the favor--even a little."
That's because they have no class or integrity.
Mr. Redford is an overrated actor. When I've watched him in films, especially those produced much later in his career, I see a character being played by Robert Redford. When I watch the likes of an Maximilian Schell, Sir Lawrence Olivier, Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro, I see the character.
"...he points out that he really had to hold his nose to accept the Kennedy Center Honors..." So did I(Figuratively speaking).
