Well who really knows... But this Iranian opposition group does have a very big vested interest in over hyping any threats.

If and when Iran gets nuclear bombs, is there still any reason for the U.S. to stay in the U.N.? What possible reason would it serve for the U.S. to stay in the U.N.?

Actually we avoided nuclear war with the Russians because at the core they are semi sane people. They knew if anyone popped a nuke, neither side would survive.

This guy thinks he is preparing the way of the muslim Messiah. He will not act in a rational manner because he is sure that the more chaos he spreads, the faster the Mahdi (or the antichrist) will come.

Times are a lot different. I would rather have the Soviets back.

Hillary Clinton came out today on the record saying that Bush was 'outsourcing' foreign policy to the UN on Iran.

We don't negotiate with terrorists. Why can't Hilliary understand that. Does this mean that Hilliary thinks that the USA should negotiate with terrorists?

Because Hillary is accepting donations from pro-Iranian Hardliner groups, and is only concerned about being elected President.

My point, which I admit not making strongly enough, is that if Hillary is taking a hawkish stance on the war at this moment, then the intelligence they have available to them is pretty conclusive as to how grave the situation in Iran is.

The fact is that either somebody that isn't Israel has to hit Iran by March, or Israel has to hit Iran by March. We are OUT OF TIME in terms of fomenting insurrection among students and moderates. 12 guys in Iran are in charge, and they mean to start a war.

This is going to be a mess, and the Democrats are starting to realize that all this anti-war rhetoric paralyzed the current administration's ability to do anything about it. Even Harry Reid appologized the other day for smearing 27 Republican Senators in a letter he wrote about ethics.

Kinda funny for a guy under Justice Department investigation for violating ethics and other laws.

Aw, Cmon! We all know Bush is just making this up to start another war to get the attention away from Abramhoff!

I think it's time for Iran's reactor to experience a horrific accident.

That everything is Bush's fault, at this point, is a metaphysical certainty. If a butterfly's wing flaps, and dislodges a bit of dew that eventually leads to the Cat 5 Hurricane, the reason why the dew was so badly supported, or that the butterfly was put in the position to create such havoc was, of course, Bush's fault.

You might be on to something here....

The left has painted us into a corner....selling the need to be proactive against Iran will be very difficult...especially given that few Americans really understand what is going on and the consequences of doing nothing.

Honestly, the President has to tell the citizenry that we are going to act to deter a possible WMD threat from a nation that hasn't directly used force outside its borders. Why is that more of a threat than what Iraq posed?

Most on this board understand the reality of a nuclear Iran....However, most Americans don't (and won't), and given the flaming that has occurred over Iraq, will find it difficult to justify unilateral US aggression.

All thanks to the DNC....

Precisely. Now that there is a VERY CREDIBLE NUCLEAR threat that is going to require immediate, protracted, and possibly bloody action to take place, the Democrats have made it impossible for Bush to make a case for military action on Iran with WMD as the basis for invasion.

The further irony is that it is INTELLIGENCE that is leading everyone worldwide to this conclusion that Iran must be stopped, and now even the Democrats, even if they stood by Bush and made the case to the American people that it had to be done, the reason why it had to be done is going to be based on intelligence, and that won't do anymore - thanks to the seditious bastards across the aisle.

Hell no.

It is, however, nearly time for Israel to overtly attack Iran with nuclear arms.

I believe Israel can attack with conventional arms preemptively, but a preemptive Israeli nuke strike is not feasible.

I also agree that the US can not attack preemptively due to the political climate. We might be able to get away with "helping" the Israelis with tankers, intell and air space.

As my 80+ year old uncle said 2 years ago after 911 - "its bad, real bad ...."

I think I found what Iran is trying to do,

they are trying to increase their commodity prices for the first day of trading on their Bourse, and are doing so using

March 20 2006

Thursday

29 Esfand

Day of Nationalization of the Oil Industry

This is an economic ploy by the "mad" president of Iran.
