Lots of films are shot in Canada - production costs are much cheaper. However, I do get tired of seeing British Columbian old growth forests and Simon Fraser University in most of the SG-1 episodes.

Not only are his films made in Canada, I think they are produced and funded there by Lions Gate Studios in North Vancouver.
