Got a video clip that I need to post...(Tech vanity)

Someone just sent me a video taken over in Iraq of a suicide bomber who failed at his mission. He was helped along by some guys in the 47th & 319 EOD who sent a robot over to take some pics of the guy then plant a charge.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I could get it posted so people could watch it? It's not a situation where people will see body parts blowing all over the place but it isn't for anyone who's a democrat if you get my hint.

I wouldn't post that anywhere. I think your military friends could get in a heap of trouble if there is anything on that tape that could be used by the left. I think there is a military wide ban on sending pictures from any war zone. Correct me if I am wrong.

Subject: Video of suicide bomber being "assisted" XXXXXXXX forwards this sequence of a suicide bomber in Baghdad, who attempted to ram an explosives-packed car into an Abrams tank and destroy it.

The attempt failed; all the explosives in the car did not detonate. The car was partially destroyed and the driver wounded, but he was still capable of detonating a further charge. This was a very dangerous situation, so the Army and Iraqi police closed the road to traffic, and an ordnance detachment used a tracked, remote-controlled robot to approach the car, take pictures of it and its dazed driver, then place a demolition charge beside it, and "assist"the driver in completing his own suicide.

Even after destroying the car and killing the driver, a package of several undetonated artillery shells and land mines is seen remaining on the pavement. In the last frames, they seen being blown by the EOD people in a field at a remote site. Note the size of this explosion, which would have taken place beside the Abrams tank, if the suicide driver's car had originally detonated as planned.

The accompanying description reads as follows:

"The pictures and video are from the EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) robot you'll see in the video. If you look closely in the picture of the inside of the car you can see projectiles and? explosives used as the primary explosive charge (you'll see them later as? well). The guy is still alive and can still function the device, so what do you do?

Army EOD? knows; just place an "explosive disruption tool" under said
vehicle to "disrupt" the explosives and their initiators... along? with the suicide bomber.

Good video taken by an EOD? robot. Interesting! Pass along."

According to John F'ing Kerry, terrorism is a law enforcement issue. So it's not really a war zone.

Did I say that all of Iraq was a war zone? I just know that a buddy of mine who is in the army was telling me that some of his friends got busted for sending pics and movies back from Iraq. I didn't know what the movie entailed and thought I would pass it along since my friend told me that the military tracked where the tape originated through email servers on the base and weren't to happy with the person that originally sent that movie out.

If it is of action, I would tend to agree with you.

Maybe they were hoping he would surrender and spill some beans.

On another note...damn, by far the uglier ones seem to make up the bulk of suicide bombers. Guess it makes sense (insofar as one can make sense of fanaticism).

He's sitting on a load of deadly bombs. They didn't want to get near him AND they needed to dispose of the bombs. BOOM the robot charge solved both problems.

I think it's a bad idea to disseminate this. It creates sympathy for the homicide bomber, by showing his handsome face and his misery as he puts his head in his hands in his last moments. The last thing we want is to create any more sympathy for the terrorists than they already receive from the left. People who watch it may not understand how military decisions are made, with pragmatism and our troops will be depicted as heartless.
