Face the Nation looks worthwhile, with Pat Roberts and Joe Lieberman. Good chance they'll be discussing national security, without the Dem talking points. I may have to watch "Slay the Nation" before I head for church this morning. That seems to be the only show worth watching.
As a side-note, the Austin paper's lead article on the Insight (editorial) section's today was:
AlGore, the impassioned voice of reason
That was enough for me, never read one sentence of that article by a known lib reporter for the Statesman.

Last time when McCain tried, blogoshere was not there to hold him to account. Compared to MSM, blogoshere NOW is 8000 pound gorilla he has to deal with this time.

then I will do ribbons on Tuesday.
Will do my best but most likely it will have to be Tuesday since we are going thru a transition period at work. Lost several top people to other Departments and have new people to bring up to speed so do not have the time or energy to Freep as long on Sunday or Mondays.

How many times did Harold Stassen run for the presidency?
Ha! You had me stumped there! So I turned to the 'net:
"Harold Stassen ran for U.S. president nine times between 1948 and 1992."
However, he never ran on a major party ticket. BTW, who was that guy from Laugh-In who ran in every election?

We need a Free Republic tv show on Sundays to counterpoint the current leftist fare. It would help, especially in an election year. Invite real Republicans; ask productive questions of RINOs and Democrats; have a guest editorial at the end.
Start up might be expensive but I bet it would pay off handsomely after a while.

Good morning Alas, thanks for the thread!

Don't know that one, but I've always thought that the pic of Adlai Stevenson's hole in his shoe sole was contrived....to make him look less elitist.
(BTW Is it true that when he died, the only book on his bedside table was a copy of WHO's WHO?)

I couldn't agree with you more NMJohnnie about the stupidity of this comment that is made constantly by the democrat leadership in this country. Not only is it more of the same old blame america first garbage, it demonstrates their complete ignorance of terrorists and their game plan.
President Bush's war fighting approach -- better there than here -- is obviously the right one. That more terrorists came into Iraq once we were in Iraq, was, imho, part of the strategy all along. Get them where our war fighter's are and kill or capture them. That this strategery is missed by our idiotic friends on the left is no surprise. That they continue to blame america for the increase in terrorism is also no surprise.
