Immigration has become an increasingly contentious political and social issue around the country.
Organizations patterned after the controversial "Minuteman Project" along the US-Mexico border have sprung up in New England, the Midwest, the South, and the Pacific Northwest. This has led to demonstrations and shouting matches with those opposed to what they call "vigilantes."
State and local officials are working to limit government services to illegal immigrants and their children (such as college tuition and worker's compensation), requiring proof of citizenship to get a driver's license and cracking down on day labor sites where men - many in the country illegally - gather to seek work.
Concerns over terrorism, identity theft, and the national methamphetamine epidemic (which is fueled by Mexican drug cartels and Hispanic gangs operating far from the border) are part of the picture. But some observers warn of an upsurge in "nativism" - the kind of anti-immigrant feeling that has swelled at other times in US history.
"This is a really significant issue right now," says Mark Pitcavage, a historian of extremist movements with the Anti-Defamation League and an adviser to law-enforcement agencies.
For years, says Dr. Pitcavage, some organizations have been critical of what they see as lax immigration policies promoted by both Republican and Democratic administrations.
There are about 11 million illegal immigrants in the US today, a figure that grows by some 500,000 a year, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. In a recent paper, the center's research director, Steven Camarota, reports that there now are more than 35 million immigrants (legal and illegal) living in the US. That amounts to more than 12 percent of the total population, the highest percentage in eight decades.

The liberal globalists have no one to blame but their own. Over twenty years ago, concern US citizens questioned the wisdom of uncontrolled borders and its impact on the US quality of life, and government services. Terrorism was rarely used as a reason. Many of the arguements were laid out with facts, data and logic. How did the open border groups responded. Many shouted down the concern US citizens, smearing them as racists, isolationists and etc. The campaign was orchestrated by Hispanic groups, liberal professors and politicians with behind the scene support of US corporations and the PC MSM. After many years of abuse, the immigration reform people are in no mood for reason as the illegal immigration groups and their US allies (leftwing, liberals and corporate America) realize they had awaken the American people. Now the pro illegal immigration groups are crying that the proposed laws are unreasonable and they are victims of hysteria. They act like they were the reasonable ones and the immigration reform movements is a driven by emotions and not reason. To them I say, TS. We have been reasonable for the last twenty years and we took all the abuse by their street and campus goons. Time for reason is over, only direct political action against the politticians and the employers that hire them. LET'S ROLL!!
It's about a lot of things. Americans are under siege; jobs going overseas, we're at war with people who are happy to try and kill us here, people pouring over our border illegally, impacting social services, schools, hospitals, potentially lowering wage levels in unskilled or semi-skilled jobs, etc. from a corrupt country that allows their problems to come North, along with billions in illegal drugs, and maybe even terrorists. Yep, lots of things we're concerned about and sick of it, too. There better be a continuing groundswell of angry Americans, letting their ignorant, paid off and "look the other way" politicians know it too. Enforce the laws at the border, and in the U.S. against the employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens. The sooner the better or we won't have much of an America as we knew it, left.

(CNSNews.com) - The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) claims its organizational mission is to "expose and combat the purveyors of hatred in our midst." However, some conservatives say they are offended by the ADL's deliberate efforts to equate the right wing with hate groups such as the Ku Klux Klan and Nazi Low Riders.
The ADL maintains an extensive database of information on a broad range of "dangerous extremists" and closely monitors the nationwide activities of the predominantly anti-Semitic, white supremacist organizations. The group's website also features a calendar of "Upcoming Extremist Events" in order to alert concerned citizens across the country of hate gatherings occurring in their cities and towns.
Yet some question why the ADL has issued a warning for the Free American's 2002 Home-Land Security Expo that will take place in McDonough, Georgia, from Nov. 8-10.
The Georgia event is billed as an "exposition and book fair" and will feature lectures by notable conservative commentators Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Center and Larry Pratt, president of Gun Owners of America. CNSNews.com asked the ADL to define the extremist threat that the Home-Land Security Expo poses to America.
Define 'Extremist'
"I don't know that the ADL has a formal definition for the term 'extremist'," said Mark Pitcavage, director of fact finding for the ADL. "But you can typically use the rougher definition of someone whose views are so far out of the mainstream that they have effectively disenfranchised themselves simply because so few people agree with them," he said.
Pitcavage said the ADL has labeled the Home-Land Security Expo an extremist event because most of the participants and vendors are right-wing extremists, white supremacists, anti-government extremists, and conspiracy theorists. And, he said the event closely resembles the Y2K "preparedness" trade shows of the 1990s.
"The preparedness expos of the 1990s were sort of traveling trade fairs for survivalists and right wing extremists," Pitcavage explained. He said those expos typically featured booths exhibiting survival products such as "dried beans" and "shark cartilage" pills; right-wing extremists, tax protesters and militias; and white supremacists selling books and other items.
Pitcavage said the ADL is concerned that the Home-Land Security Expo's organizer, Clay Douglas, is trying to revive the extremist trade shows. Douglas is also the founder of the Free American, which the ADL has deemed a "conspiracy-oriented magazine that focuses on anti-government and anti-Semitic theories."
Conservatives Defend Their Honor
DeWeese, who will discuss the issue of sustainable development at the Home-Land Security Expo, said he never would have accepted Douglas' invitation to speak at the event if he was anti-Semitic as the ADL accuses him of being.
"I'm massively offended by that and it's wrong," he said. "There is no one who will be at this conference who would be a spokesman for anything like that."
DeWeese said he is not surprised that the ADL has labeled the Home-Land Security Expo an extremist event. After all, he said the event will feature information that is important to people who believe in national sovereignty, limited government and don't like the United Nations.
The ADL, he noted, has trouble accepting the notion that conservatives question government, taxes and the U.N.
"They want to shut us up," DeWeese said of the ADL. "We have no point that should be exposed; we should not be allowed to speak out on these things because it's dangerous to peace on earth.
"We are told that we are not allowed to have our point of view; that that just is not to be discussed in polite society, that we are extremists, that we are dangerous, that this is the reason why we have trouble in this country," DeWeese said. "Well, yeah, it's probably true because we say, 'No,' to these things and they don't want that."
Pratt, from Gun Owners of America, also said he was offended that the ADL would equate the Home-Land Security Expo with hate groups. He has been invited to discuss Second Amendment issues at the weekend event.
Pratt said the ADL is experiencing the same problem the Federal Bureau of Investigation faced prior to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Before then, Pratt said, the conviction had always been that the threat to America came from conservatives and the "vast right wing conspiracy" that Hilary Clinton feared.
"The ADL has got its similar, ultra-liberal blinders on," Pratt said. "For them, anything to the right of Hilary Clinton is a massive threat to the security of the commonwealth."
Pratt said the ADL has never understood that people might want to take care of themselves rather than rely on the government to care for them. Contrary to the liberal ideology of the ADL, he said those who attend the Home-Land Security Expo are more than likely of the mindset, "No, I think I'll do it myself."
When the going gets tough the liberal start name calling. They have no argument so they try to paint what your doing as something evil. Who ever heard of Nativism until we wanted to defend the USA from the invasion from across our souther border?

It's really simple, stop ALL illegals from entry, and deport them every time they are found, regardless of where they came from.
Equal treatment for all, including Cubans and other so called "refugee's" of despotic regimes.
If their home country is that bad let them revolt, we did, they can, or they can continue to live in the conditions THEY created.

The time is past, past, past, to close the USofA's border to Mexico. NAFTA, CAFTA, give these "immigrants" legal status in this country. Court case after court case give the illegal immigrant citizen like status.

Why deport them immediately? Put them in jail, dress them in orange jumpsuits, and put them to work doing work Americans don't want to do.
Make them pay for their incarceration. Have them pick up the trash on the sides of the interstates. Have them do whatever to pay for their stay and for their court costs first and then deport them.

Time to get busy, isn't it? The illegals are not going to pack up and go home `cause some talking head in D.C. sez "purdy pleaze." They will go back because we raise hell about it and NOT re-elect the same old crew and pass the laws making it a jail offence to pay an illegal for labor or hire them into a job. We have to NOT be nice about it, they are bringing down this country and DESTROYING out children's future.

Legal immigration should also be limited since this country no longer need hordes of people. A case in point: Gao Zhan, whom this country demanded in 2001(?) that China release her and let her come to this country (in what appears now a setup by the Chinese gov.). Turns out, in 2003 Gao admitted to illegally exporting more than $1 million in military-grade computer microprocessors to a Chinese government agency.

Yet every year, millions keep coming. I believe that number is way low. I believe it is easily twice that. and half of these people are in Los Angeles.

The people crossing the border are Mestizo Indians for the most part. It is the policy of the white Hispanics to throw them out of their countries.
