ROME (AP) - Four protesters briefly grabbed the Olympic torch from Italian track star Eleanora Berlanda as the relay passed through the Italian town of Trento on Monday.
The protesters known as "the disobedient ones" - demonstrators associated with the anti-globalization movement - nabbed the torch and relay escort runners took it back, the Italian news agency ANSA reported. "I saw the (protesters') banners and I thought I would be able to pass by them, but they came near," Berlanda told The Associated Press by telephone.

So much for the Italien Track Star. I'm shocked she couldn't out run them. They should be in the Olympics if that's the case.... ;-)
Did they play Pig in the middle with the torch?
Seems as if they did out run them... For someone who has already been running it isn't easy to get speed...
ALL YOUR TORCH ARE BELONG TO US
Weird. It sounds like the runners got it back, at least. Haven't seen anything about this elsewhere though.
Libs on libs. It's beautiful.
People who assault others like this aren't protestors. They're felons who deserve to spend a considerable time behid bars for their actions.
LMAO!
You are criticizng the wrong person.
No, ancient Greeks would have roasted the "disobedient ones" in boiling oil and them put their severed heads on pikes. That usually tends to discourage more disobedience.
I'm concerned that these pukes are someday going to throw a bucket of gas on the torch runner.
Exactly how is stealing (temporarily) the Olympic torch suppose to bolster a cause?
I too am against globalization in many ways, but this is just stupid.
I recall the refusenik that attacked the leader of the mens marathon last olympics and ruined the race for him. Despicable and inexcusable.
"Pour l'encourager les autres." We shouldn't let the leftists change the rules so making an example out of someone is out of bounds. But perhaps crucifixion, boiling oil, and heads on pikes is a little outre for this crime. I'd settle for public caning.
No, but if the torch went out they were screwed. ;)
Please don't give these thugs any idea.
LOL. I'm all for fun and dreadfully annoying pranks. I give this one a 9.7.
