Funny how everyone seemed to think he was such a wonderful guy, and blamed Russia for his skin disorder.
The reaction in Russia is perfectly normal to an solated insident:
Russia's Jews To Ask For Extra Police Near Synagogues
A Russian Jew at Moscow's Hasid Synagogue, site of an attack on worshippers on 11 January
(TASS)
12 January 2006 - Russia's Federation of Jewish Communities (FEOR) says it will ask the Russian authorities to reinforce security near the country's synagogues.
Speaking the day after a man inflicted knife injuries on an least eight worshippers at a Moscow synagogue, FEOR spokesman Borukh Gorin said that Jewish communities need state support.
Russia's chief rabbi, Berl Lazar, said that the victims of the 11 January attack were still in a state of shock but "they will feel better soon."
"The most important thing for us is what will happen tomorrow, that this should not happen again, that law-enforcement bodies should really take this situation under control and understand that there is a real threat in Russia now, not only for Jews," Lazar said.
Police initially said they had no reason to believe that the attacker -- identified as 20-year-old Moscow resident Aleksandr Koptsev was linked to any extremist group. However, prosecutor Anatoly Zuyev said on 12 January that investigators had found Nazi literature and regalia in his apartment.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, the Moscow Patriarchate, and the head of Russias Roman Catholic community have all condemned the attack.

State Duma Members Who Singed Antisemitic Letter Refuse to Back Down in Wake of Synagogue Rampage
In Russia, concern over hate crimes grows
Rights groups claim Russia backs racism
Save your propaganda Lukasz lest someone link to sites that claim the same about Poland:
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/669810.html
http://warsaw.usembassy.gov/poland/antisemitism_eng.html
http://www.tau.ac.il/Anti-Semitism/asw2004/poland.htm
And that's with only 5,00010,000 Jews in Poland out of a total population of close to 40 million.
The rest was brutally murdered by Russians in the concentration camps, dont you know? ROTFL
And yet, not only did they get that, not only is the Russian PM half jewish and the mayor of Moscow a jew, but over 100,000 have returned from Israel....now Luky, how did you miss those little points?
Put down the coco fluffs...they've gone to you head.
Attack Jews in Russia: go to jail.
Attack Jews in Israel: the govt. will happily destroy Jewish communities.
Not surprised at all by these stastics, and wouldn't be surprised to learn there are solid statistics from many other regions of Russia regarding substantiated anti-Semitism. Every Americanized Russian I've ever talked to, (and eventually, most Greeks, Armenians, etc.) reveals an apparently ineradicable strain of Anti=Semitism. I am no longer surprised to find it among people who seem otherwise intelligent.
From my experience, Russianized Americans are generally more anti-Semitic than Americanized Russians.
Silly - and Russia has the same type of memorials. How about agreeing that anti-Semitism is bad wherever it is encountered (Russia, Ukraine, Poland, US, Germany, FreeRepublic - we have a member [spanalot] who uses materials from "Zavtra" newspaper).
Of course I agree. It is jb6 who post about anti-semitism in Ukraine over and over. Strangly he fails to find anything anti-semitic in Russia, so I decided to help him a bit. Note that normally I didn't posted even a single article about anti-semitism in Russia, Ukraine etc.
Ahh, things just seem to get better and better in Yuschinko's socialist paradise dont they?
Next we'll be hearing of his Ukrainification plan, to eliminate all non-Ukraine culture from Ukraine.
I don't think jb6 has defended anti-semitism in Russia. Usually when he posts the Urkainian information, in my opinion, it's in response to some claims made by Ukrainian nationalists who have somehow found there way to FR.
their, vice there
For example, let's see what jb6 had to say about a post concerning anti-semitism in Russia.
"I love how it's always mentioned, oops, never mentioned, that the MPs who submitted this made up 4.4% of the Duma. Oh that's right, if you mention that, then the whole hit piece falls apart from lack of credibility. But if you don't mention the 450 and 4.4% fact then you have something to attack with." - 6 posted on 01/27/2005 10:33:54 AM CST by jb6
So in other words, 4.4 percent of the duma means nothing, but one guy in Ukraine means everything.
jb6 doesn't like it when people think Russians antisemitic, but he wants to put the same exact smear on the Ukrainians. He wants people to hate Ukrainains at least as much as he thinks we all hate Russians. He is the lowest of hypocrites.
