January 25, 2006 -- WASHINGTON Most American voters now say there's no way they'd vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if she runs for president in 2008 while just 16 percent are firmly in her camp, a stunning new poll shows. The Gallup/CNN poll found that 51 percent say they definitely won't vote for Clinton (D-N.Y.) in 2008, another 32 percent might consider it, and only 16 percent vow to back her.
That means committed anti-Hillary voters outnumber pro-Hillary voters by 3-1.
Men are especially anti-Clinton 60 percent say there's no way they'd back her for commander-in-chief, and that rises to 62 percent among men 50 and over.
Among women, 22 percent say they'd definitely vote for Clinton, but just 11 percent of men agree. Her support is also lower among whites 14 percent are committed supporters, compared with 28 percent of nonwhites.
Even among self-proclaimed liberals, just 33 percent say they'd definitely vote for her.
The poll suggests she can forget about crossover votes 90 percent of Republicans and 75 percent of conservatives say there's no way they'd back her.
Clinton's spokesman, Philippe Reines, brushed off all questions about 2008 polls, good and bad, saying Clinton "remains focused on being the best senator she can for New York."

Me, too!
Please, no one should underestimate the ice queen.

I think if this story had been written 10 years ago, it would still be accurate.
McCain will be rendered a nonfactor beyond the primaries. He has to be nominated at the convention in order to be any "threat".
A special Her Heinous ping for you...
I sure hope so. It's amazing how the LSM is trying to push him and his RINO pal Rudy Guiliani as potential Republican candidates. They would shatter the party, but then they all know that.
I support HRC running for president in 2008...
...but only because I known she'd be crushed by whomever we put out there.
I think the pudgy lady in the purple cap is Barbara Mikulski.
Screw the media. The media by now has the credibility of a crooked lawyer and shady politician, in the eyes of the average voter.
Is she wearing THE pants suit?
WHY HILLARY MUST NOT WIN. WHY HILLARY CANNOT WIN. December 7, 1941+64 The context of our concern today--regardless of political affiliation--is Iraq and The War on Terror, but the larger fear is that our democracy may not survive. We have the requisite machines, power and know-how to defeat the enemy in Iraq and elsewhere, but do we have the will? In particular, do we have the will to identify and defeat the enemy in our midst? Answerable to no one, heir apparent in her own mind, self-serving in the extreme, Hillary Clinton incarnates this insidious new threat to our survival. What we decide to do about Missus Clinton will tell us much about what awaits us in these perilous new times. COMPLETE LETTER
THE ABSURDITY OF A COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF HILLARY
AN OPEN LETTER TO TIM ROBBINS, DAVID GEFFEN, CHRIS MATTHEWS, MAUREEN DOWD + JEANINE PIRRORE: a not-so-modest proposal concerning hillary clinton
Dear Concerned Americans,
Hillary Clinton's revisionist tome notwithstanding, 'living history' begets a certain symmetry. It is in that light that I make this not-so-modest proposal on this day, exactly 64 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

However, on a positive note - she might make a good "human footstool" for Condolezza Rice(?)
democrats lying about being Republicans and conservatives
As I've said again and again, Hitlery, if she ever did get the nomination, would generate the largest negative turnout ever in an election. Why some scared rabbits here live in mortal fear of her is beyond me.
Ditto. They always start out with phony lines like "I've been a lifelong Republican, having voted for Goldwater blah, blah, blah, but now I'm voting for Hillary Clinton." Ahh yup, we're fooled.
Like most "nightmares" we dream about, they do no come true.
McCain had his shot, and though Americans may have short memories, they will not forget his rancor, piss poor bills, aligning the 'Gang of 14' filibuster deal, and his being a general thorn in the side of GWB & Co..
Should McCain choose to run as an independent, he would (IMHO) have little to no effect the presidential election.

It's always good to hear,(and easier to believe), about polls that say what we want to hear.
I'd crawl through broken glass.......
I don't think McCain would do that to his country.
There is a greater chance, in my view, that the radical left will field an anti-war candidate.
That said, if the GOP candidate is pro-choice, the Dems will try to make abortion the de facto Ross Perot, i.e., try to make the Right sit out the election, (and thereby place a de facto vote for missus clinton or whichever D is running).... But this will work only if the Right complies.

"I am Sick and Tired! of people saying that if you criticize the Republicans, you are not patriotic! Sick and Tired of it!
"And you people know wha I'm talkin 'bout!"
I have saying since 2000 that if Hill runs she'll be lucky to win the primary, let alone the general. The People are tired of the Clinton legacy and the last thing they want is to see all the slime dredged out into the public street again. Except in New England.
Someone on e-mailed Fox & Freinds that they would support Hitlery if John Kerry was the Republican candidate.
"Please, no one should underestimate the ice queen."
I can't agree enough. I had hoped that the GOP would have identified a "strong" player to take her on in NY.
On one hand it would make her fight and spend to keep the Senate plus pledge to stay the term. Which is a plus and she might lose and thus be politically dead.
On the other hand, it might be a chance for her and the MSM to get all the negative stuff that might come up in the 08 race out of the way. This is a big negative as if there is ever a public discussion of all her "baggage" outside of a liberal stronghold like NY then it will really hurt her.
I would bet that 90% would like to see this wretch convicted and jailed.
Mrs. Clinton's our president the instant Oprah gives the thumbs-up :<
I may be deluding myself a little, but I don't think that the American electorate cares about things like race or gender anymore where the presidency is concerned. I think the right woman could get elected to the White house, but Hillary is NOT that woman.
If Rice could put together the political infrastructure she'd have a real shot, but absent her, no woman is going to get elected next term.
Sure, real people won't vote for her, but what about all the dead people, double voters and the like?
Tell Karl Rove to fire up the Mass Mind Control Machine. Hillary! was supposed to suck all the oxygen out of the 2008 Democrat Primary before spectacularly self destructing in the run-up to the Democrat National Convention.
Don't these guys even have a playbook!
SAVE Hillary!. She hasn't finished destroying the Democrat Party yet!
I guess the TV show touting Hillary's future presidency was a failure. Time to pull the plug on "Commander in Chief".
This statement more than "suggests" that this poll is donkey doo.
Muleteam1
Jeb Bush coupled with a solid younger but accomplished conservative (maybe an up and coming Lynn Swann, I know he has to win the governors race first) would be a dominating force. We also must be sure we continue the war and tax policies of George and McCain is too buddy buddy with the liberal Senators and Rudy is too liberal in the areas he needs to be conservative. The next President must not think raising taxes is ok,McCain and Rudy seem like tax raisers for sure.
They look like a couple of Eco-terrorist!
This is an absolutely amazing jump. In Dec. her "would never vote for her number" was about 41! What's happening here is that as the idea of her possibly becoming the president actually comes closer, people are getting focused on it and saying no!
The best thing for us would be for the beast to get the rat nomination. That way we could pull a name out of the phone book on the top line and work on the down ballot races. This is what we should have done in 1972 and again in 1984.
So sad. They were kinda cute in a 70's sort of way when they were young.
That's an insult to Jadis--she's far better looking, and represents a seductive sort of evil.
"Sure, real people won't vote for her, but what about all the dead people, double voters and the like?"
LOL.....!
Ya I forgot about all the democratic "stealth" voters.
I thought that figure to be at least bassakwards. It implies that conservatives would back her more than rinos would.
I've never been one to like Hillary's chances at winning the Presidency [shudder], but I'm still rather pleasantly surprised by these numbers.
Hillary forgot that she lives in the Big House on the plantation.
