A day after as many as 20 armed men in military fatigues crossed the Rio Grande into Texas before being chased back by U.S. authorities, the Mexican government ordered its troops not to come within 2 kilometers of the border.
While the Mexican Foreign Affairs Ministry and Defense Ministry denied their military had a role in providing protection for Monday's marijuana smuggling operation into Hudspeth County, the government said its military wouldn't be permitted in the border zone without authorization.

"According to Perry, fences serve no purpose, so I have to wonder if a mob of people pulling down the fence that surrounds the Governor's mansion would be labeled a 'silly idea'."
Oooh, I like that one MamaTexan. Tear down his fence and then have somebody run in and mess up his hair. That'll really get his attention. :-)
Naa bush will try to sweep this under the rug he has been at his weakest when dealing with government bloat, terrible trade policies, and the border..
Also take note which flag is first. Theirs of course.
'Cause our side was heavily outgunned - cops vs. .50 cals. VERY bad scene if M-2s opened up.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!
Support our Minutemen Patriots!

"A very corrupt country. "
Yes, the US has become a very corrupt country.
Do we have fire authorization? :P
Naaa,
Let the bones bleach in the sun. Better deturrent.
bttt
"Why didn't we shoot?"
One thing Texans remember about the Alamo is that when the other side has more than ten times the firepower that you have that the home field advantage don't mean squat. Better to wait for a chance to replay San Jancinto than hurry and replay the Alamo.
If someone has photos, might it be possible to smuggle some out and post them here?
It's probably safe to assume that our Gov't does NOT want any getting out to the public - so let's get as many as we can out here, and then e-mail 'em all over the Country.
It would appear that Mexican drug money has found it's way into both American political parties, all the way to the top; I can't think of any other reason why our own government takes such an active role in repressing enforcement of our border integrity.
The MM "Vigalantes" may be the only ones who can do anything about it, but since the BP is obviously overwhelmingly outgunned and sympathetic Americans, for the most part, are not allowed to own any sort of weaponry matching what these Mexican military units have, then the MM are pretty limited as to what they can do.
It's pretty doubtful that the Gov.s would put out the NG; the "Posse Commitatus Act" might well be an issue too.
And it would be suicidal for BP, Police, or MM to initiate a confrontation with Trained and heavily armed Zetas.
It's probably quite fortunate that the invaders didn't just mow down all of the BP and backup Officers on general principles, as it is highly doubtful that any of them would be held accountable for such a massacre.
So while our brave Warriors struggle in the ME to defeat terrorism abroad, our illustrious "leaders" leave the back door in our SW pretty much wide open for whoever and whatever to pour in by the truckload.
IMHO, recent initiatives towards "border security" are, for the most part, only for show in response to contributions going down.
But this recent incident demonstrates about how seriously management really takes the issue.
Ashcroft?
Here ya go MamaTexan.

And if it were ME:
"Vicente, I'm only gonna say this once. Anyone, ANYONE, in a Mexican Army uniform that crosses my border will be shot, in the nuts, repeatedly, with an automatic weapon of my soldier's choosing, until they bleed to death.
Catch you later! Don't forget to watch American Idol tonight."
The photos and videos that I know about, were taken by BP and LE officers and as far as I know none have made it to the media. BP and LE officers have only recently started giving tips and stories to the media. I would not be surprised if they don't also find a way to slip the media copies of reports, photos and tape soon. For so long they have kept their mouths shut because they were told to. Now they realize they have been hung out to dry by the politicians and they are desperate to get attention so policies will be changed.
I have also been told by some BP officers that most of the time when they do give tips to the media, local media will have a short story that is not picked up nationally, and some in the media are not interested at all because it is not in line with their own agenda.
Senate vote on H.R. 4437 on Friday, 01/27/06...
Urge Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) to use his leadership power by opposing Senate passage of a guest worker amnesty. Call Senator Frist and express your opinion: Senator Frist's Nashville office (615-352-9411) and D.C. office (202-224-3135) offices by Friday.
From the FAIR website, there is this:
The second session of the 109th Congress is poised to renew debate on controlling the borders and bringing an end to illegal immigration. As most of you already know, the House passed a bill in mid December that purports to get tough on illegal immigration without adding any guest worker or amnesty provisions. This much is satisfying, but the House bill could and should have been stronger. Only the TRUE Enforcement and Border Control Act, H.R. 4313, aims directly at the root incentives that drive illegal immigration and mirrors what the public is demanding.
Read FAIR's exclusive analysis of the major immigration legislation pending in Congress, updated January 2006 (PDF)
Many of these incentives are ignored in the House-passed Border Protection, Anti Terrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act, H.R. 4437. For example, this bill conveniently ignores any requirement for employers to dismiss their illegal alien employees even after they have been shown to be unauthorized to work in the United States following mandatory verification.
The bill also fails to:
--Construct a contiguous fence along the southern border; --Authorize sufficient personnel at DHS to enforce our immigration laws; --Protect the integrity of the social security card; --Protect the integrity of birth certificates; --Reduce the number of documents usable for worksite verification; --Suspend the visa waiver program; --Restrict birthright citizenship; --Restrict the use of ITINs; --Require additional detention space for illegal aliens --Stop the granting of mortgages to illegal aliens; --Stop the business tax deductions employers take for their illegal employees; --Stop claims by illegal aliens for the earned income tax credit.
These failures are remedied in the TRUE Enforcement Act and all of them, if left unchecked, will leave in place an environment where illegal aliens may continue to live without inconvenience and nearly invisible to law enforcement.
You just (als) described conditions in Afghanistan.
All the aztlan demonstrators I see with flag sign protestations almost always depict the Ameican flag UPSIDE DOWN, either that or with a giant red fist imprinted over it AND then upside down.
Aztlan is a paramilitary organization, in my view. It and LaRaza, another one related/aligned, are allowed by the University of California to organize on campuses, which I consider highly objectionable. At least, last time I checked, but perhaps the UofC has come to it's senses since then (I'm not holding my breath).
