Pre-911 Mindset: Dems Want To Take Terror Fighting Tools Away From President Bush; Falsely Accuse President Of Breaking Law:

Former Vice President Al Gore: "[T]he President Of The United States Has Been Breaking The Law Repeatedly And Insistently. A President Who Breaks The Law Is A Threat To The Very Structure Of Our Government." (Fmr. Vice President Al Gore, Address To American Constitution Society And The Liberty Coalition, Washington DC, 1/16/06)

Sen. John Kerry (D-MA): "I Agree That We Ought To Have A Special Council Investigate [The President] ..." (ABC's "This Week," 1/22/06)

"Shortly After The President's Speech [On Monday], Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid Implied That Mr. Bush Is Breaking The Law And Criticized The 'President's Continued Refusal To Come Clean With The American People About Domestic Spying.'" (Joseph Curl, "Bush Hits Foes Who Say Spying Broke The Law," The Washington Times, 1/24/06)

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean: "[T]he Question Remains: Why Did President Bush Deliberately Choose To Break The Law?" (DNC Chairman Howard Dean, "Dean: President Bush Fails To Explain Domestic Spying Program," Press Release, 1/23/06)

"[R]ep. John Lewis [D-GA] Said ... In A Radio Interview That President Bush Should Be Impeached If He Broke The Law In Authorizing Spying On Americans." ("Congressman Calls For Bush Impeachment," The Associated Press, 12/19/05)

Dem Leadership Agreed With Program When Briefed, Did Not Think President Bush Broke Law:

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV): "I Was Briefed A Couple Of Months Ago." (Fox News' "Fox News Sunday," 12/18/05)

Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA): "As The Ranking Democrat On The House Intelligence Committee, I Have Been Briefed Since 2003 On A Highly Classified NSA Foreign Collection Program That Targeted Al Qaeda. I Believe The Program Is Essential To US National Security And That Its Disclosure Has Damaged Critical Intelligence Capabilities." (Rep. Jane Harman, "Harman Statement On NSA Electronic Surveillance Program," Press Release, 12/21/05)

"Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV [D-WV], The Top Democrat On The Senate Intelligence Committee, Said ...That He Wrote Cheney After One Briefing In 2003 And Expressed Concern About The Surveillance." (Maura Reynolds, "Cheney Defends Domestic Spying," Los Angeles Times, 12/21/05)

"Rep. Nancy Pelosi [D-CA], One Of The Congressional Leaders ... Was Briefed About The Program ..." (Maura Reynolds, "Cheney Defends Domestic Spying," Los Angeles Times, 12/21/05)

Post 9/11 Mindset: President Bush Uses Tools Available To Him To Fight Terrorism In Accordance With The Law:

President Bush: "After The Enemy Attacked Us, And After I Realized That We Were Not Protected By Oceans ... [I] Said, Is There Anything More We Can Do Within The Law, Within The Constitution, To Protect The American People?" (President George Bush, Remarks At Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, 1/23/06)

Deputy Director Of National Intelligence General Michael Hayden: "Had This Program Been In Effect Prior To 9/11, It Is My Professional Judgment That We Would Have Detected Some Of The Al-Qaida Operatives In The United States." (Gen. Michael Hayden, Remarks At The National Press Club, Washington, DC, 1/23/06)

Third Parties Agree: Terrorist Surveillance Program Follows The Law And Is Critical Tool Fighting War On Terror:

Former Secretary Of State Under President George H. W. Bush, Lawrence Eagleburger: "It's Very Easy To Make This Wiretapping Business Sound Like Richard Nixon, Which It Isn't ... In This Case I Personally, At Least, Believe That It's Absolutely Critical To Our Security Situation Now In A World Of Terrorism ..." (Fox News' "Fox News Live," 1/23/06)

Associate Attorney General Under President Clinton, John Schmidt: "President Bush's Post- Sept. 11, 2001, Authorization To The National Security Agency To Carry Out Electronic Surveillance Into Private Phone Calls And E-Mails Is Consistent With Court Decisions And With The Positions Of The Justice Department Under Prior Presidents." (John Schmidt, Op-Ed, "President Had Legal Authority To OK Taps," Chicago Tribune, 12/21/05)

Democrat Advisor And The Brookings Institute's Michael O'Hanlon: "I Think When You Suggest That Civil Liberties Are Just As Much At Risk Today As The Country Is From Terrorism, You've Gone Too Far If You Leave That Impression ... I Get Nervous When I See The Democrats Playing This [Civil Liberties] Issue Out Too Far." (Charles Hurt, "Democrats To Hit White House, Republicans On Privacy Issue," The Washington Times, 1/3/06)

Los Angeles Times' Max Boot: "[The Bush Administration] Has ... Used Its Enhanced Post-9/11 Powers To Keep Us Safe. The National Security Agency's Warrantless Wiretaps, Which Have Generated So Much Controversy, Helped Catch, Among Others, A Naturalized American Citizen Named Iyman Faris Who Pleaded Guilty To Being Part Of An Al Qaeda Plot To Bring Down The Brooklyn Bridge." (Max Boot, Op-Ed, "The Wiretaps Shouldn't Bug Us," Los Angeles Times, 1/18/06)

Author And Adjunct Professor At Georgetown University Raymond Tanter: "[P]resident Bush Is Doing Exactly What He Should Be Doing: Protecting Americans At A Time Of War." (Raymond Tanter, Op-Ed, "President Must Act In Real Time -- Not Judiciary Time" USA Today, 12/22/05)

It is great to see the RNC publish a list of the hypocritical rantings and ravings of the demonRATS and the ENEMEDIA. Helps the peons fight for the President.

Sad to say that too many Americans, mostly rats, are going or have gone back to sleep and will need another slap in the face attack to wake them back up. Somebody needs to tell them that if you snooze, you lose.
