Has a vote for cloture been scheduled? Right now the Senators are still talking, but the list is getting shorter and shorter...

Aww, but Kerry wants to filibuster! And I want to give him some more rope! Not that I'm disappointed that Alito's confirmation is nigh, but jeez!

Kerry probably doesn't call for one otherwise. He's just trying to get on the good side of the Dummies.

Well, I sure hope Frist has it together better than a lot of folks on FR today. I swear it's like being at DU with all these people insisting that we should legitimize the practice of judicial fillibusters by not going nuclear...

I, at times have wished for a filibuster to be the straw that breaks the "Democratic camels back".

Oh, what a tangled political web they weave.....

You can bet Lieberman won't support a filibuster.

4 GOP Senators have not pledged to vote 'YES' or 'NO'.

Stevens, Collins, Snowe, and Chaffee.

All may not vote for confirmation, but all will vote against a filibuster.

Yeah, Lieberman's down. So is Byrd, believe it or not. He actually announced that he's going to vote for Alito.

I called for the nuke option months ago.

I'm just trying to show how it won't even come to that.

Did you know that Kerry filibustered in a haughty, French style on Christmas in Cambodia?

The good thing about the Dems filibustering, it will give the GOP some balls to filibuster a Democrats Supreme Court nominee. The Democrats are once again raising the bar in partisan politics. Which may be good, because maybe we can shut down government for good.

I just can't believe that even one of the moderate/conservative Democratic Senators will support a filibuster. They may not agree with Alito (or Alioto as Teddy would say) but they have not leftist base to appease, like the liberal Dems do.

This may go further towards fracturing the Dems and creating a third party.

It would be overkill for them to go nuclear when a simple cloture vote will do. They are not going to do that.

I realize the filibuster is currently defined as refusing a cloture vote, but can't any Senator filibuster any Senate activity simply by taking to the floor and refusing to stop speaking?
