(Children Created 'Safe House')

MILWAUKEE, WI -- A pregnant woman is in custody after police said they found three of her 14 children taking refuge in an abandoned house in Milwaukee.

Police spokeswoman Anne Schwartz said the 9-year-old twin boys and 6-year-old boy had scars and bruising to their backs, buttocks and faces.

The 35-year-old woman's six oldest children had been previously removed from her home by child welfare officials.

The remaining eight have since been removed. The children range in age from 3 to 20.

The three were found Thursday night in an abandoned house near 35th and Brown with no heat, water or electricity.

Police said the children had created a "safe house" where they'd go to escape their mother's beatings.

Authorities said the floor was covered with garbage and feces.

The three children found in the abandoned house told police their mother regularly punches them with her fist and hits them with belts and a broomstick.

Police said there had been complaints about the woman since 1997 related to the care of the children.

Police said she was arrested in 2000 accused of punching an 11-year-old son in the face, but the district attorney didn't prosecute.

"Has court forced sterilization been ruled Unconstitutional? I think it has."

Yeah. You're most likely correct. I'll put the Norplants in her arm myself, if it'll save a few more kids from the h#ll she's put the other 14 through...she's still got a few good breeding years left in her, unfortunately. *Rolleyes*

You're right, but I hope you will believe me when I say it NEVER occured to me what her color was; Wisconsin has a whole rainbow of women that abuse their children. Unfortunately. We had a Hmong Grandmother leave her young grandchildren alone, they started a fire in the house and killed themselves. We have white women leaving their unwanted newborns in dumpsters, eventhough we have that law that allows you to leave a new baby at a hospital or police station and you can just walk away.

I could go on, but I'm depressing myself...

Sterilization makes sense, but the problem is who do you trust to make this decision, a gubmint flunkie? Some fool of a judge? We don't want to go back there, because you could be next. I know. They did it to my grandmother at a time when Black women had no rights.

You're right. I know of a doctor in 1920s-40s Virginia who sterilized just about every black woman he could, and they had no idea what he was doing to them. That's despicable and inhumane.

"I hope the Child Welfare folks are proud of themselves, cause no one else surely is."

No, for those idiots, beatings and abuse are just fine.

Now.......if the mother had been a Christian homeschooler, they would have fallen all OVER themselves taking her kids away, donchaknow.

In this case, shouldn't she be "spayed".

15 pregnancies, 15 different fathers? Who in their right mind would have sex with that woman?

Maybe she "entertains" out of the house? "Johns" aren't known for their good taste.

Two of the kids are twins so it's a maximum of 14 different sperm donors.

I know, I know.

It's just that most of the time, I get to the threads much later--for me to really be ahead of everyone else is a first ;)
